Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
I Didnt like it and i loved the Xmen Cartoons so i felt dissapointed, I mean What the hell was with the lack of cyclops in it :(
I felt it kinda lost itself near the end which was a shame.. Maybe the Wolverine movie will do better.

Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
This wasn't satisfactory at all. The action was so-so; instead, the director gave in to using all the SFX for Phoenix and Magneto. Story sucked as well.
There was no need for Xavier to die, there was no need for Cyclops to die, and there was certainly no need for Jean Grey to die either. The scene in the house with Xavier, Jean and Magneto. It didn't resolve shit and Xavier mumbles a cliche line like "don't let the power control you" and subsquently disintegrates and gets put out of the action for the whole movie?! And then showing up at the END of the movie?! And that bit with Magneto nudging the chess piece with his power ... yeah like we didn't see that coming.
Felt like the whole fucking movie revolved around these losers trying to get over their lovesick for Jean Grey, wtf. First Scotty, then Logan. Fucking lame. And why did "you know I'm the only one who can stop her" Logan have to kill Jean? Why not load her up with the "cure"?
What happened to the cool action sequence? I remember in the previous movie, that short sequence with Nightcrawler kicking ass in the White House. Now that's the kinda cool action I want. Not Wolverine doing his half-ass clawing--just fist himself while he's at it.
There was way too much focus on Wolverine in this movie. Part 2 delved into a bit of his past, which was fine. But this movie was about the lovesick puppy going off on his own for god knows what. X-men is about a team of mutants, which this movie is sorely lacking. There was no team dynamics, not enough interaction between the team members. Everyone was relegated to the sidelines for Wolverine and Phoenix.
It almost felt like the director was trying to one-up Bryan Singer and show everyone how badass he can be. Oooh look at me and my flying bridge, look at me and my disintegrating people, look at me as I kill off Xavier, Cyclops and Phoenix. Fuck off.
As a stand-alone action flick, pass-able. As part 3 of the X-men "trilogy", it was a complete wank. Fucking uncool.
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
Yep...way too much "tortured love story" and not enough mutant asskickery. Who does this guy think he is coming in and killing off half the cast by the end of the movie?? :x
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
he made movies starring jackie chan and chris tucker and that says a lot :(
Yep...way too much "tortured love story" and not enough mutant asskickery. Who does this guy think he is coming in and killing off half the cast by the end of the movie?? :x
Well, actually prof. Xavier isnt dead, you see that when you look at the scene at the end of the credits, and nobody knows what really happened with Cyclops, remember there is no body, just his glasses, and why was Jean unconcious when Storm and Wolwerine found her....Jean Grey is also alive, only her Phoenix entity is dead, Jean is in some kind of a cocoon at the bottom of Alkali Lake(like in the comic book). Besides Proffesor Xavier and Cyclops are one the main caracters in the X-Men universe, so i think that everything will be explained in the next movie, wich was confirmed i belive. It is said that DVD release of X-Men 3 will contain three different ending scenes(like the one with Xavier after the credits) and that will also explain some things....
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
We know Xavier didn't really die etc etc ... the issue is with all these characters being taken out of the story. Even most of the X-men were relegated to the sidelines.
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
Yeah, that's more my point. Where was Nightcrawler?? He was the best thing about X2...nowhere to be found (not even an explanation for his absence) in this one. I thought Colossus was going to be a main focus in this one...nope, sidelines at best. The Juggernaut wasn't much more that a novelty. Seemed like the only reason he was in the movie at all was for the "I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!!!" scene...which was cool and all, but he should have wrecked everything...leaving a trail of mutilated X-men in his wake. Instead he ran though some walls...and that was about it. :what Angel....all over the commercials, but with about 5 minutes of meaningless screentime.
It just seemed like there was a lot left on the table is all I'm trying to say. Unfulfilled potential. Oh well, there will be more...and I'll go see them. 8)
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
I just saw this movie..IT is ok but it needed it more action...overall I think the second one is the best of the bunch...
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
Saw the movie this weekend without being a big x-men fan, and thought it was pretty lame. Its just a straight up bad story line.
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
hmmm, the more post appear in this thread, the more I feel like just getting the DVD instead of seeing it in the cinema...
Re: X-Men: The Last Stand
