james gandolfini was on "Inside the Actor's Studio" about 2 months ago. he stated that filming of Season 6 wouldn't begin until 2005. it will be the final season. btw...it airs in March 2006.

latest i heard on Sopranos is that filming for the sixth season starts in april/may 2005. sometime later in the year till we get to see it i guess. rumor on the news that there will be a 7th season though.

as for deadwood, not sure, but i really liked the first season. hope ian mcshane wins the golden globe. still think james gandolfini should've been nominated at least.

i seriously doubt we'll get a 7th season from them. james himself said season 6 would be the final one. that doesnt mean i dont want more. :|

This is why I hate HBO. All their good series (Oz, Six Feet Under, etc.) end within five or six seasons :(

better to go out gracefully then in a ball of flames. seinfeld set the trend.

i know, but i'm saying he set the trend to go out gracefully. seinfeld was still a good show before it ended. so the soprano's might not be on for 12 years, but at least they go out in style. instead of beating a dead horse with a stick.

It's absurd to weigh a series' success by its number of seasons. Flying Circus, Faulty Towers or Twin Peaks prove the point. Simpsons might be the only exception.

I agree, Sopranos was a great sreies that makes us wait to long between seasons. Not much we can do about it. I also agree that 2006 is the next and final season. As the last episode of season 5 ended I jokingly said to my wife,' I guess that is it untill 06." Shit, I did not think I would be right.

I'm now caught up on the episodes that I have never seen. They are showing them on HBO on the weeknights. Great show.

james gandolfini did Inside The Actors Studio sometime last fall i believe. during the interview he mentions season 6 will be the last one but... it will air in two installments. so we will get one batch of shows beggining in march, and the final episodes later in the year. dont know if there's a reason behind this other than stretching it out for maximum value.

But I heard that the official date for the Sporanos to start back up is Sunday March 12th, does anybody know that for sure?

I just started watching the last season again because I forget everything that happened. Totally blows that they waited so long. This shit better be good for the long wait...
