Re: Syriana
people have been talking about that, but i dont think so, i think it was just an accident. but damons character used that to get in w/ the shiek and used their guilt to help his career and his company.
just watched this. liked it alot although i do agree about lengthening it to develop the characters more.
one thing i was unclear of.. was damons son killed intentionally in the pool for some greater reason?
it was originally longer and got cut because of concerns that it was too long for theaters. they should release a directors cut or something.
this is a great movie, anyone who says differently is just plain silly.
Re: Syriana
i loved it. watched it twice when I rented it.

no, just an accident. buts its why him and his wife drift apart, cause he uses his son's death to his advantage.

Pffffft, you feel sorry for me because I didnt like a movie? Get a life
I am well aware that these are things happening in the world right now, and because the movie was long, drawn out, and lacking in content that didn't put me to sleep, doesn't mean I am an idiot or blind to the world affairs around me.
If producers in Hollywood or wherever want to make a movie about life in the world today and educate people, they need to have a dialog that that doesn't loose their attention span after 30min in. Look at movies like Schindlers List, Black Hawk Down, and Saving Private Ryan to name a few....those movies were true and told in a way that people paid attention and that my friend is how you make a good movie because if you can't keep people's attention, your issues/story will never be heard.
get some adderall.
Re: Syriana
watched it again. still love it.
Definitely an intellectual movie. There were many things that happened in the movie that were never really addressed aka subliminal. I truly love movies that do not force feed you the plot and leave some things to be concluded by the viewer. It is heavy movie, and far from Hollywood as you can go. Lot's of dialogue, can be boring for people who need pictures in a book.
Re: Syriana
^^that is a great synopsis. I agree 100%, I am a big fan of movies like this also.
Re: Syriana
need a directors cut dvd imo. but a great movie nonetheless.
Re: Syriana
i though the original WAS the directors cut. I doubt that Gagan cuts much out of his films.
Re: Syriana
I don't think I'll be watching this one again.
Re: Syriana
i remember reading when it came out taht he had to shorten it for theaters
