It's been around for years in the UK - it is very funny, although I thought he took the whole thing too far in the end, he was at his best when he was on the 11 o'clock show interviewing people who had no idea it was a parody, once he became better known this became impossible!

exactly Ian,

unfortunaly the whole thing, like you said was reliant on the guests and people Ali G spoke to taking him seriously as a person. When really as we all know, Ali G was just taking the piss.

When everyone got to know him he found it harder to carry it on with the character, so he moved it to the states

agreed though, a propper classic!!

check out the Ali G movie if you have only hust dicovered him...

I like the one when he was interviewing Daryl Gates the former LAPD Chief of Police. For those who don't know he got alot of notority during the OJ Simpson case. Ali started asking him about OJ and then immediately starts asking him about Homer Simpson and murder. You mean he murdered Marge??? :lol: Daryl Gates started explaining to him very slowly "OJ Simpson and Homer Simpson is diiiiiifffeereeenntt. One iiisssss ccaarttoon. It's not real". He made Daryl look like a complete idiot because he thought he was serious. :lol:

I remember downloading an episode years ago and thought it was pretty funny but I saw it on hbo the other night and thought it was hilarious. The reactions out of the people are priceless and some of the shit he says just kills me.

Very funny show, Almost to the point where i ordered HBO again for the set at home.....That would take a lot, but instead i use the on demand from cable at work to catch up. Highly recommended to all...

i know im late on this, but i just heard a few of his clips over the radio the last few weeks only to discover hes got the 1st season out... being i dont have hbo & blockbuster doesnt have it, i had to order it..

the funniest ive heard from him is talking to some american doctor about putting old people to sleep permantly.. the doc says its called euthenasia (SP) & whatever his characters name is keeps repeating that the youth in asia are responsible for the death of many old people..

guys make sure you grab the dvd it has some extra stuff pretty funny and also ali g and some other dude are talking over the first episode some good stuff there as well.

what surprised me the most was that he is actually growing his own mustache to play borat!

my favorite was during the wine tasting in georgia, where he is asking if the black guy is their slave. and the southern dude says that is good for them (meaning black people) and borat goes but not so good for you and the southern dude goes "right right".

it is just amazing how many ignorant people are there to uncover!~
