Re: Rome

I was hoping somebody posted something on this. This show is actually pretty good. The beginning of the first episode was a little slow, but really got me excited for the 2nd episode which was actually good too.

The show is an hour with good acting and some gratuitous sex and violence. It's HBO, so why not?

Check it out if you haven't already.

Re: Rome

Watched the first three on OnDemand - good show. A little slow at times and leaves you wishing for a bit more action and wondering when Russel Crowe or Joaquin Phoenix are going to pop out of nowhere ;)

The gratuitius sex is a nice touch and Polly Walker definitely is hot.

Re: Rome

surprised nobody is commenting on this show. its gotten really good since the first few episodes. the main characters Verenus, & his mate are a perfect pair. Ceasar is running all over the place straight Ownin' people.

am i the only one watching still?

Re: Rome

yeah I heard lots about this show? How is it compare to Sapranos or some other HBO shows?

Re: Rome

The Daily Mail were shocked that the gratuitous sex and violence will be shown straight after the watershed. I think this starts the first week of November on the Corporations second channel. Looking forward to it :Naughty:

Re: Rome

are they making another season?

#520710Post 15 of 20

Re: Rome

i'd say thats a safe bet vegeta. hbo has a real hit on their hands here. they've been churnin out some damn fine shows the last few years. and the first season of rome paved way for a great 2nd season with lots of scandals.

Re: Rome

Leave it to HBO to run something down the ground. The first season I heard was good but just leave it alone. Do we really need another season of this. Why not create a new show to take its place.

Re: Rome

you cant be serious. this show kicks ass and a 2nd season is much needed. there's no way they canbuild the characters up to what they have and then just let them "die" so to speak. we've not heard the last of Rome yet.

they spent something like 5 months building the set in Italy. why would the cancel the show after one season if they put that kind of effort into it??

Re: Rome

HBO spent lots of money on Rome - $100 million. And the lead actors signed 5 year deals per an article I read when the season first started.

Re: Rome

I just got on this band wagon. Simply amazing show. Historically accurate, well done produced, and T&A in a classic form.

asdf approved.
