Re: Transformers

Im only 20, but i grew up with animated movie and still love watching it. I agree they can ruin it or make it the greatest thing ever. I just got a hard on from the preview though.

anyway saw this yet? i have a feeling its crap when Megatron is a jet and Scorpionok being hit by the Micheal Bay shrink ray :s

Re: Transformers

I'm actually looking forward to it because this summer's blockbusters (namely Spiderman and Fantastic Four) have all been letdowns with the exception of Pirates and even that had mixed reviews from people even though I enjoyed it.

Re: Transformers

Guys & gals saw this yesterday and too be honest alot better than what I thought.

The fx are great but the film has imbued the transformers with the same sense of character and morality that was present in the original. Yeah, OK Megatron is not a gun and probably looks least like his cartoon counterpart (unlike Optimus Prime) but the essence of his character and what he stands for is perfectly preserved and the same goes for all the robots.

In short I found this alot more worth my money & entertaining than the tediously teenage FF-Silver Surfer, Spidey 3 and especially the fat overblown Pirates 3.

Re: Transformers

skipped Spidey XXVII, Fantastic Four MCMXII and Pirates MCXVII, but i want to see this one. it looks like it will be a good action flick. michael bay does a good job w/ the action stuff, no more no less.

I would watch it if it was rated R. The effects must have been sick.

Those sequels have already been released out here you silly bastard. You people in CA are about as behind on the times as those Germans are with their music. Now get back to listening to the Hoff.

Re: Transformers

Fucking PHENOMINAL movie. That is aside from the great corporate and government plugs (for some reason everyone seems to have a GMC/Cadillac in the movie and the great fixation on superior firepower ie. tons of tanks, stealth fighter, pretty much all types of awesome heavy weaponary, enough to recruit peeps subliminally). My only gripe, aside from the blatant ads, was that it should have been spread out into a trilogy. The story just seemed to move quickly in the 2.5 hours or so. Oh, and MEGATRON FUCKING ROCKS (so does Optimus). Acting is on par, great cast. To add, if you're politically jaded like me, you'll see the hints in there that might promote the current war. After all, Michael Bay does seem to be conservative ;). Anyway, enough with my little derailment. Transformers rox.

Re: Transformers

Most amazing movie ever!!!!! You really have to see it in a digital screen to appreciate all the effects. Highly recommend it and even better, pay close attention to the trailer playing before the movie (JJ Abrams)...

Re: Transformers

Abrams? Isn't he doing Star Trek? Or is he doing something else that'll be released sooner?

Caught Transformers tonight and it's fucking badass. My eyes were hurting from the air-con from not blinking throughout most of the action sequences :shock::shock:, there were just too much shit going on to absorb in one sitting. Transformers is THE blockbuster, it obilerated Siderman, F4, and Pirates (still enjoyed Pirates though). I think the movie gave me the same thrill and awe I experienced when I caught Terminator 2 the very first time. It's just ridicuously enjoyable and cool, and damn but Megan Fox looks amazing in the film, much more so than any of her pictures. That kid was well casted too, good acting on his part, managed to pull off the whole smart-mouth brat without being irritating.

So gonna watch this again.

#894822Post 75 of 78

Re: Transformers

could be a sequel, optimus prime took a piece of the allspark out of megatron @ the very end there, so room for a sequel. as for the chick check the sexy time thread :)

#895692Post 76 of 78

Re: Transformers

the actor is good, the chick was HOOOOT the movie was fucking good!!, but why did they removed the classic transforming sound from the cartoon.., that blew ass

Re: Transformers

Ok guys, I finally caved in and I'm going to watch a bootleg version of this movie tonight! Trust me I hate watching bootlegs but I've been dying to watch this movie and I can't wait anymore... yes I do live on Mars!!!

#896716Post 78 of 78

Re: Transformers

Saw this last night, and was completely blown away by the special effects - easily the best of any movie I've ever seen. Totally compensates for the longevity of the film and the cheesy plot.

As a fan of the original cartoon/movie it was a special moment when Prime first showed up!

I thought at times they really tried to get a story line going but then that would just disappear if anyone gets my drift?

Overall I'm really pleased I saw this
