Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
I watched half way through... I don't really wanna see more...
Can't wait for it.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
Man, they can do no wrong.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
just this week, I finished the age of ultron comic series.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
The comics are unrelated beyond the title.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
Just got my advance screening tickets through work, and found out the theater chain booked the IMAX screen for us.
I gets to sees it the night before it opens. :) Having product placement has its perks.

Interesting interview.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
^ dang! got anxious and all, I thought he'd forgive himself already for all that stuff he was doing back in the days
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
RDJ is there to promote the movie, if the reporter wants to a more personal piece, he should arrange it with RDJ's publicist, not pull this kind of garbage during a junket.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
^ that's true, the journalist acted unprofessional, but RDJ could've been more classy than that, as well, just my 2 cents ;)

Could Audi possibly be the biggest product placements in the history of film? Every movie I watched this year had some form of shiny 4 ringed auto mobile. Great to know that $190/hr service rates are well spent polishing cars to be exploded in big blockbusters.
As for Age of Ultron, I felt a little dry after it. The story had the typical Marvel recipe to it added with dry sense of humour, explosions, and encroaching protagonists questioning the future within consequences of today. I can sense the hostility with the whole Avengers franchise, as you truly have a clash of the leading Marvel characters, but none the less it could have been better intertwined.
The movie went for too long, and all the fighting/cgi was a little too predictable. What I did enjoy was the ability to look into the individual heroes deepest fears. As I compare most Marvel franchises to qualities from the X-MEN franchise, I may probably set the bar a little too high.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
watching it tonight!
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
Just sad that Joss Whedon will not be completing this trilogy... but I totally understand why.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
so, it looks like I won't see the movie, although I planned
friends of mine have, though, and what they said made me decide not to see it
one said that its basically "transformers with comic book characters", while the other compared it to "sunday morning cartoon"
great job marvel :Bingo:
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
I thought it was okay, but they're not really making an effort at hinting at a whole bunch of spin off movies and future film plots anymore.
James Spader was a very good and very unusual choice for Ultron, imbuing him with strange, nearly schizophrenic traits and tics to make him seem much more menacing than simply going with the special effects motion capture.
Liked it a bit less than the first movie, but it still worked well for me.

"Joss Whedon claimed that juggling all the characters in the film was "a nightmare": "They're very disparate characters. The joy of the Avengers is they really don't belong in the same room. It's not like the X-Men, who are all tortured by the same thing and have similar costumes. These guys are just all over the place. And so it's tough." He was so exhausted with working on this film, that he decided not to direct the sequels"
he calls it a nightmare :deadhorse: should have declined to make the 2nd one, as well
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
He also hinted at a bit of studio interference, which could mean that we're at a turning point with the Marvel and Disney co-operation.
Disney has a habit of claiming that nothing will change when they acquire something, like Miramax Studios in the mid 90's (and then dropped Kevin Smith's Dogma when religious groups started to protest) or their contentious history with Pixar (Michael Eisner - who ran Disney in the mid 90's into the early 2000's - nearly mothballed A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo). If this is a case where Disney starts to interfere more and more with Marvel productions, it'll likely be a case where they'll scoop the best talent from Marvel and bring them into the Disney fold - like they did with Pixar, who were given assignments like Frozen and Big Hero 6.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
A letdown.
Re:
I liked it overall. I thought that the movie was a bit long-winded but it had its moments. The Iron Man vs. Hulk fight was worth the price of admission, IMO.
Re: Avengers: Age of Ultron
I watched it a week ago, and.... mmmmmmm so so It was kinda boring, just a bunch of great visual FX. There was little drama (superheroes´ movies need the drama of the characters, imo), and the storyline wasn´t deep enough. I prefer the movies dedicated just to one superhero, than this group thing. It´s just my opinion, but I was expecting something else.
