I didn't think this had a thread, nor have any search results showed one.

Caught this last night and was reasonably contempt on the whole movie, The plot, characters, and the overall concept. You could learn a lot about relationships, and the likes of being in love with the wrong person, but applying it in reality will be quiet a challenge.

Definitely worth a watch, but the ending slightly threw me off as it took some recapping to completely understand its intention and delivery.

I have this sitting in iTunes to rewatch. The best Jim Carrey film and beautifully executed.

this has to be one of my favourite movies... it's so nostalgic, sad, it touches a lot of deep emotions about relationships...

this has to be my favourite part:

Re: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind [2004]

^You have to read the whole poem (Eloisa to Abelard), such a beautiful work by Pope who wrote about illicit love, an the vengeance the family had taken to forbid the love.

A bit of trivia on the circus passing through the city: The scene where Joel and Clementine watch the circus go through the streets was made up on the spot, as the film crew and cast happened to be working nearby and Michel Gondry decided it could work well in the film. The part where Clementine disappears suddenly is one of Gondry's favorite moments of the film, as Jim Carrey didn't know Kate Winslet was going to disappear and Gondry likes it because Carrey's face appears so saddened. When the sound blanks out in the final film, Carrey is actually saying "Kate?"

"I have to be leaving. But, I won't let that come between us. OK?" & she says "OK" & gasps.... they kiss goodbye and she can smile.

sweet & reassuring

Re: Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind [2004]

I wasn't sure what he referred to when he said 'let that come between us.' Was there an 'us'? He's returning home to his wife and home renovation.

But knowing what he said reminded me of the Before Sunrise series.
