Has anybody else seen Star Wars: Revelations? It's a 42 minute Star Wars movie produced by a bunch of fans. I got ahead in work this week and just finished watching it.

It took them three years to do. I kid you not, the production values and quality of the special effects are very high.

You could complain about the acting or the story, which are good but not completely professional, but come on, they did this on their own, and there's no ewoks or jar-jar binks or other cute crap. Just story, which seems to fit somewhere in between episodes 3 and 4. Or 2 and 3. I'm not sure. Depends if all the Jedi but Obi-Wan die in episode 3.

You might as well try it. It's better than the last two Star Wars movies.

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

So...why are all Star Wars geeks slightly overweight with cleanly-shaven goatees?

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

Thank god for the internet or otherwise there would be no way for this to ever reach its audience

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

I downloaded it. The special effects are good, but they need to get better actors. I don't know why they couldn't use a LSO recording of the main theme; that takes some punch out of it. I dunno...just looks like a bunch of hardcore goth Star Wars geeks doing a movie. I think it would fit well in a video game, but is embarassing to watch alone.

Thanks for the link anyway. Anybody seen "Troops", the stormtrooper version of COPS? That's really funny.

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

I'd check it out if it was a short, but I don't have time to sit through a 40+ minute film (then again I'm currently posting on forums...). :P

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

There is only really one good Star Wars Fan Movie ... it's the "Stars Wars Troopers" ... were they play a skit as if it were the show "Cops".

Really??? Is there a short film called "Troopers" that is a take off of COPS?? Thought I heard that somewhere.

Anyway, I heard about Revelations on some TV. They showed clips and I was highly impressed by the speial effects, they looked almost professional. Another reason why I love this digital/Internet age.

There's a 25mb Quicktime video at http://www.completelydifferent.co.uk/videos/ (direct link) or a 100mb mpeg on the eMule network.

"And I feel like I can really make a difference here."

Nah, it was a joke, man. They said the same thing within 1 post of each other. I was being a smart ass.

I didn't knew about that movie anyways. So it didn't hurt to slap google a bit and get the video.

Re: Star Wars: Revelations

I'll have to go grab it myself. I'm in the process of watching Episodes I and II gearing up for III, so any Star Wars is fair game right now.
