Unfortunately my Dad pretty much ruined all war movies and documentaries because that's all he ever watched and watched to this day. I hope I never see another documentary about past wars :lol:. But I'm sure someone else here will watch :).

I know I posted this already... but I come to it every now and then... specially to what Brian Eno says, expresses... he talks about music and inspiration in particular, but there's such depth in his words that can be applied to any other thing...

Cocaine Cowboys was just re-released with an extra hour of footage put back in. The sequel was almost as screwed up, but a lot more dependent on witness accounts than actual records. It's not quite as good as the first, but still a pretty good follow up to the first.

Oh yeah,

If you can handle it, watch Act of Killing - it's a God honest interview with a former Malaysian death squad member and who was given free reign on recreating some of the executions he committed during a political upheaval in the 70's. Fucking incredible to see how a sociopath sees his acts (hint: Not a hint of guilt and with an incredibly sick sense of humor).

I forgot about this, I have this but never get around to watching the whole thing.

not a country music fan at all, but watched this yesterday (while on the treadmill) on Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was one of my dad's favorite musicians, mostly for his song writing... so all of his songs connect with my dad for me.

Life stories of musicians are usually very interesting/enlightening anyway:
