if you were to get the DVD of this would you get the US or HK version and why?

HK version. The US edition is cut down and is missing certain scenes from what I was told.

Subtitles might be better, but I generally prefer to buy the HK versions of films. Miramax tends to cut films down (ie. Shaolin Soccer) because they don't feel the audience wll get the humour.

I personally saw both versions and didn't notice any major differences. Shaolin Soccer was definitely a disaster. I think Miramax has learned its lesson after that debacle.

watch this before brad pitt slaughters it with a remake ... but dont get part 2 and 3 though ... those are weak attempts by the makers to milk money off the original
