Godzilla [2014]
Re: Godzilla [2014]
I've got to temper my excitement for this as I do recall feeling the exact same way before the version with Matthew Broderick. what a fiasco that was.
Re: Godzilla [2014]
Same. It looks like a rental that needs to be seen on IMAX
Re: Godzilla [2014]
I think if it's anywhere near Pacific Rim, it'll be great. Just more on the dramatic side of things...
Re: Godzilla [2014]
Wasn't a big fan. Special effects were nothing too spectacular, and seeing Bryan Cranston was the only relief.
I do have a bone to pick: seeing the reference to Darwins Origins of Species in the opening credits. So not cool...
Re: Godzilla [2014]
Wasn't too bad, I think it might be better than the previous Godzilla.
Re: Godzilla [2014]
I liked it, Gareth Edwards who did the movie Monsters did a movie that's more about the people on the ground in a similar manner that War of the Worlds was told. It's a bit of a refreshing take on the traditional monster movie, and less about the CGI porn.
It's unfortunate that most of the characters are pretty stock - Aaron Taylor Johnson from Kick Ass has the square jawed hero role, Ken Watanabe has the scientist constantly in awe role and the only real standout is Bryan Cranston, who's in the movie for all of 20 or so minutes.
Re: Godzilla [2014]
^Agree on Cranston as usual. but its just lacked substance, but one can only expect so much from mythological creatures.
