Re: End of Year - Top 5
Can't really say that I watched anything at the cinemas this year.. so it would have to be movies watched in general. Again, haven't seen anything new in the past month.
Haven't seen but on my list - Hugo, Tree of Life, Contagion, True Grit, Young Adult

Re: End of Year - Top 5
Urgh I thought True Grit was so overdrawn and overrated.
Re: End of Year - Top 5
My fave TV shows will have to be
Fringe Breaking Bad Game of Thrones
in that order.
I still watch Dexter but that's mostly cos I'm already on it.
Re: End of Year - Top 5
This year was a very good year for film, there's no way I'm nailing it down to 5.

It is but it was just simply cool. There's other way to put it for me.
Re: End of Year - Top 5
2011 was without a doubt the worst year for Quality movies. I know a lot of people went to the movies this year as far as sales but that is all marketing. The actual quality of the movies was awful.
Shit I can watch the movies for free on the internet and I still don't
Re: End of Year - Top 5

Re: End of Year - Top 5
Paul was quite possibly the worst movie I ever saw.

Re: End of Year - Top 5
I can't say I could rate ANY of the movies I saw would make a top list for me, shit other than Killer Elite, Apollo 18, The Debt, Red State, Pirates of the Caribbean, Transformers, nothing really jumps to mind. And none of those could come into a top list.
Was Drive really that good? It came out on BluRay pretty quick.

I highly recommend u give Boardwalk Empire a chance! Both seasons have been pure quality.
as for film in 2011 I did not think that this was a great year. However, one film for me stands out about all others...Tree Of Life. Viewers either love or hate this film, but regardless of your overall opinion you can't ignore the combination of visual & audio artistry that is truly unique. Not to mention that what truly makes this a great film is it's overall impact on the viewer even though there is little dialogue to be found. I definitely recommend seeing this!
Re: End of Year - Top 5
^ Agreed, if you haven't seen Boardwalk Empire, give it a try.. solid character development, good acting, authentic atmosphere..
Factual Film:
Senna
Forgot about that one.. very well done!
Was Drive really that good? It came out on BluRay pretty quick.
Simple plot, good cinematography .. i liked it for some reason. But overall it wasn't a great year in terms of film. The people at The Academy are probably thinking the same thing :)

I'd forgotten about Salt and Wall Street.
Luther has been on my radar for a long time now and just remembered Justified. Anyone watch that?
Re: End of Year - Top 5
^Ya I watched season 1 and 2 of Justified. Brilliant gritty drama - Timothy Olifant did a superb job and :Naughty:
