This film is awesome. From every aspect. Some of the best most engrossing characters. A must watch. Make haste... go see it.

yeah really like it this movie from the cruelty and how kids have to live.....where everyone is on a gang or something.....kind of sad when this guy shot to the foot of the boy......coz he stold a piece of something.......shit......sick stuff...... :(

Original title is Citade de Deus, is it not? Movie got several awards, and the movie is worth all of them.

I really liked this movie. It's very sad though, almost like a 'reality check' sort of thing. And the movie did an awesome job at making the viewer feel like they were right there involved with the boys--in a situation that you just couldn't escape.

i love it also, its amazing how they show the perspective of this people. i've been to a similar neighbourhood in brazil to buy weed, i went without shoes and t shirt cause they steal everything they like.

just to let you know, a current movie in theaters now, The Constant Gardener, was directed by Fernando Meirelles who directed City of God. quite a different story from City of God but a good movie nonetheless.

I like how it had a bunch of small stories packed into one, the subtitles were annoying but thats just minor. the dvd I had kept skipping towards the end so that was a bit annoying as well. f'n blockbuster :twisted:

Original in every way: story of 30 years!!!, great caracters, nice/funny beginning (chicken escapes bbq),....

Sorry to correct but this ain't a sequel. It's the miniseries (9 episodes) which includes some of the cast and is made by the same people who did City of God.

Anyway it easily stands up against the film, usually quite cheap to buy aswell.
