The advertising campaign is not doing this movie any favors - what at a casual glance looks like a Transporter rip off with Ryan Gosling is actually much more. It's some of the best "natural" driving stunt footage I've seen since Ronin and pays tribute to some of the best action/driving movies of the 70's like Bullit, Vanishing Point and The French Connection.
Ryan Gosling is known only as Driver - he's a stuntman driver who moonlights as a get away driver for the criminal [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=501"]underworld[/url] who gets mixed up with Albert freaking Brooks who's a crime boss who's got a job that isn't quite what it seems.
This is directed by the guy who did Bronson and he does an amazing job of getting the camera around some of the crazier stunt driving I've ever seen caught on film.
Highly recommended -comes out on Sept 16th in North America, and it's getting screened at TIFF this year.
