Not a huge fan of Foo Fighters. But I may give this a watch.
Respect to Grohl but definitely not the Foo Fighters.

I must say I wasn't a huge fan either. But I don't think I understood the story behind how the band was formed properly.
Also, Grohl is so passionate and "keeps it real" which I appreciate. He's not pretentious one bit.
Worth a watch :)
Re: Foo Fighters: Back And Forth
Totally agree. You think they could have been as big as they are now without Grohl's inclusion into Nirvana?

He's not pretentious but there's a few things that he does that you can tell he wasn't comfortable with (like recording over the drum tracks on the first album, bowing to the record label's demands) and came off a bit fickle with me with how he rotated members in and out of the band at times.
But I have to admire how raw and frank they all are about what happened over the years, including the demons that some of the band players faced individually, and how they seemed a bit ashamed over the years where they were playing drunk and not at their best.
It's a fantastic documentary that thankfully could have been a fluffy vanity piece that could have been used to solely promote their new album. I admire the frank nature about it and their willingness to allow it to go onscreen.
Re: Foo Fighters: Back And Forth
caught half of this as i was surprised when i saw this about a month back on cable when it was still on limited releases in the cinemas and the blu-ray/dvd weren't even released yet
i thought it was really well done for a documentary on the band or just a documentary in general
and this happened a couple of days back
respect
Re: Foo Fighters: Back And Forth
