Caught it last night at the local Cinema. Worth a watch, Spielberg's production, too many elements of a modern day E.T. with a hideously well-designed Alien. Defo worth a watch.

Re: Super 8
It's an amazing homage to the Speilberg movies Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. in the look and feel of the movie. I have to hand it to J.J. Abrams - he's a very talented director who can emulate other people's style while still putting his own spin on things (more than just the constant use of lens flares).
I dug it for the most part, it's a pretty cool watch and has a bit more soul to it than most of the other summer blockbusters that are on the market (but not much - JJ Abrams knows this is a summer movie, so he takes the spectacle route for everything it's worth), and it does a decent job building the suspense and dread that hangs over the movie.
Re: Super 8
finally found some time to catch this today ... i thought it was fairly well done for ET 2011 only thing that i thought could be done better was the involvement of the alien to the story .. i probably would have liked the movie more if the alien had interacted more with the rest of the characters and had engaged us audience more like the original E.T did
surprisingly Elle Fanning grew up to be a looker .. quite the opposite of her older sister Dakota and definitely much less annoying
Re: Super 8
