OK I got this from Hambrecht with a load of tapes he sent me. I've had a few problems trying to get it sorted. There is some interference on the recording that keeps coming and going. Its worse in between tracks 9 to 13 in part 1. It was worse in the left channel so I deleted the left channel and created a new one by copying the right channel. Sorry I couldn't do more. Its a great set just spoiled a bit by the interference.

Some of you will know some of this set but its more complete than any other versions out there. I think we can put to bed any ideas that this set was recorded at Twilo, Firestone or on Independence Night. Parts 1&2 could be the other way round but there is no way of telling. I had a go at the TL but it could need amending

Chunky, thank you for your hard work at posting this all together and, for that matter, all of the good stuff that you bring to MS. However, if this was all recorded in the same night, then the order is still out-of-whack. It just doesn't flow right and it contradicts the so called 'Independence Night' bootleg that I bought back in the summer of '96 in Gainesvile, FL. Yes, it is definitely confusing to me right after the Snap track.... It may be that it sounds wrong to me because I have grown so acustomed to hearing a different set order after that. Either way, I concede. I like the order that I am used to, but you are probably right.

Yeah I've ripped the first 2 tapes of the Atlanta gig 3hours continuous and great quality. I think the quality suffers in the 3rd part but I should have it up by the weekend

I have to thank you all, in the first place. And mayby I have to explain why.

First of all, I'm not American or Britain, and neither live in the US or UK, and that's why I feel so happy here, but sometimes I feel that I belong to a whole different world, when I read some of you guys speak about this great performers as if they were so close to you as indeed theyt are. Many times some messages on the board are of the kind of "asking him [some DJ] next time you see", and those of us who really doesn't have that chance simply rest outside that world. Nevertheless, its amazing to see where start everything, since of course there are other forums into spanish, but always, with very few exceptions, take thir links from pages like this or Tranceaddicts. That's why I usually prefer to pay a vist here. That's why I also share some mp3 files in a recent thread to celebrate Mercuryserver's 7th anniversary.

In this specific thread, but there are others in the same way and spirit, I feel like I attend to a some time machine that allows me see a very important facts that other way I really doesn't knew, and of course, for those who can't read English language, they just simply lost all this historical frame, which is very important to get a full understanding of what all of you do in this place. And more even since people like me, who doesn't live in the States or Britain can hardly have access to so much info about the old times (that's sound curious for me) on EDM.

I'm a Mexican, and that's makes me an American also, because America is also a continet, and not only a country. But also makes me feel that I'm among friends and people from whom I always learn a little more, since I really love music and from more than a year ago I share music with people on Internet through my own blog, but also through my contribution at one of ther megathreads at Mercuryserver.

So, all this yadda-yadda-yadda is just to say that this threads are very impressive and even if I, or we, as Mexicans, have all the time that closeness to the DJs, through all of your job we, or me, have access to this music, and get some familiar treatment to some DJs.

Unfortunately, differently from all of you guys, the only DJ I can speak 3 or 4 years ago was Matt Darey, and I feel very lucky to have that conversation.

So, thanks for share. =) And keep that work up.

finally got around to this set... been a busy and no time kind of month so far :(

1/3 into part 2 and so happy to have some proper 90s trance... really gets my ass shakin!!

this set has a very high possibility of surpassing the genius of Sasha @ Zen Afterparty.

what an amazing night... i cant believe this is only half!!!! of their set that night.

Great work chunky but I'm so f'kin confused with the tracklisting.

OK, the part 2 you've uploaded corresponds track for track with the tracklisting of part 1 and some of part 2 of the so called Sasha & Digweed @ Simons Independence Night 1996-07-04 full version set. which is the tracklisting you've provided for your part 1. The tracklisting you've provided for your part 2 corresponds with the part 1 you've uploaded. Now I reckon I'm more confused than ever......
