he played some electro on that Sapce Terrace set, but i assure you what he and sasha we're doing in the main room definitely was not electro. they were playing scary music. however, i think most dj's are at their peak performance down there so who knows. have fun and take pics plz louis! :lol:

was this the 3-18-06 Global Gathering set? reason i ask is that i picked up (i think off of this forum a month or so ago) an hour of that on mp3 with terrible sound quality but even with the shit sound you can unmistakably tell that it's indeed S&D laying down some unbelievably evil and high-end music. it frankly is the best hour of music i have heard from them since they were playing together in the 99-01 period. is there more of this set floating around and/or a better quality version of the one hour i'm referring to? i would pretty much donate a family member to hear more S&D like that. :evil:

see thats the problem you haven't seen him live, you have to go and hear the music in person words can't justify the sound he puts out on a club system sounds totally different. you have to go see him live at least once he will make you put your own dick in your mouth.

^^^ i'd generally agree with that, but have to say that the times i have seen him in the last few years really can't compare with the 2000/2001 shows i saw him play, especially in terms of set flow and programming. the shows he did around the time gu19 came out especially were like a Set Programming 101 clinic, just breathtaking to see. but i'm still looking forward to his DC visit next month to see what he comes up with.

Sometimes I think the Dj's think they have to keep changing to keep up with the competition, or stay on Top of it all. Really, he has always played a mix of many genres. In some ways I think he's slipping, in my opinion. I would still like to go hear him spin a set, but if its some techno or trance sound, I'm just not going to be very happy though I'd hang with it til my head hurt.
He doesn't consider himself a progressive Dj, which is fine, but sucks imo. I love the progressive sound more than anything else, though I can listen to alot of different genres. Someone here asked, "What is so special with John Digweed?" Well, I'll give the answer from my point of view. John is a normal guy, has 2 legs, 2 arms, 1 brain, just like the rest of us, however, the brain is the different part at John's body. Whereas the normal listener would pass on certain tracks that appear to be boring, Digweed will know how to use these tracks, and imagine just the right effect it will have on the proper sound system that he is going to use. Furthermore, while we listen to music in MP3 format which is compressed, Digweed gets his bits fresh from the producers in AIFF and WAV format, the man hears stuff inside the music which we don't. It is not a secret that tunes sound way more powerfull and interesting in a big sound system compared to your headphones. The trick is to manage and find the correct tunes that will make the crowd go ballistic and drop them in the precise pressure points of the set - [B]this is John Digweed's unique quality and speciality.[/B]
That being said, I am currently jumping up and down as I have just looked in this years' Ibiza Party Calendar and saw that John is going to be playing alongside Carl Cox @ Tuesdays at Space 08-08-2006. I have witnessed the exact same event last year in Cox's line and I am so excited, in 3 more months the Digger and the Cox are going to be playing together again and I'm gonna be there, entirly and utterly blown away.
