Re: john digweed futuro

Yeah I think I'm not going to be ordering anymore of these types of releases, certainly not on vinyl because it's not music that I'd ever likely play in a club or put on a mix that I was going to record at home...so owning that piece of music seems unnecessarily expensive. That's me personally though; if I was going to be buried in those releases...I'd order away.

Re: john digweed futuro

I feel the same way. It's been quite a few years since I "buried" old Digweed, because he's not doing what he used to do. Ok, times change, people change, needs change, I accept that. It's just sad that what I was once a literal fan of has sunk to the level of a run-of-the-mill POP hit. I haven't heard a record of his, live or studio, that has touched my senses in at least 10 years. There are a few good tracks here and there, there are 15-20 minutes in a mix that are enjoyable, but most of what he does is mediocre and boring. But he's not the only one. Most of the big names of the past have made it here, or are now completely gone. For me there is one refreshing exception who has always put his sets together in a sophisticated way and also tried to keep up with the times without giving up on himself, and that is Jimmy Van M.

Re: john digweed futuro

So this looks decent but I believe it is just a label comp and I usually dont pick those up. I just prefer live sets more I think. Although since it is Bedrock, I bet all the tracks are top notch

Re: john digweed futuro

A few nice tracks from Futuro in Transitions 1001. I like "Mind" and the Martin Herrs track.

Re: john digweed futuro

I went ahead and ordered it. I have been listening to the tracks on youtube and I like them all. Cant hurt to have them mixed together by the man himself.

Re: john digweed futuro

Passed me by a bit to be honest, after a first listen. There were a couple of moments where I thought 'This is a good beat' but mostly nothing stood out.

I will give it a 2nd listen in a couple of weeks which may change my mind
