At least you don't have to subscribe to a web site to buy it.

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Beautiful artwork.

I was thinking to myself a few weeks ago, I don't recall hearing any Digweed mixes from Fabric, than this drops. Looking forward to it.

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Ugh its already sold out! Overdue in my opinion...and right,no apple bullshit subscription

Thinking this has to have been fairly recent, anyone know the date its from?

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Always happy to support physical product. Just glad there's no vinyl version this time - I'd have to have it, but my wallet would kill me!

Can't believe it is sold out already. I thought it was dumb putting it up for pre-sale at Christmas when most people are skint. And with no tracklisting too! Glad I got on it straight away now.

#1811292Post 14 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Release date is February 25, 2022. I think that's for both digital and physical.

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Nice, so will have all new stuff on this mix.

Have been lucky enough to visit Fabric on 3 occasions, twice for Sasha, one of which was 2019 during the power issues & for Patrick Topping/Butch. For anyone that's been, I'm sure you'll be able to put yourself in that room, while listening to this mix.

Is there any way we can get Lost Desert to release his set? :)

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Thoughts?

I've listened to CD 2 on three occasions now, pretty damn good.

Still waiting on my copy to arrive

#1811797Post 22 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

am i crazy or are these tracks unmixed and just playing one after another with no real mixing? At least that is what it sounds like to me having listened to the first half of it. in other words, these are the tracks he played that night at fabric but not the actual line-in or crowd recording of the mix or whatever? like a global underground mix, in other words, as opposed to a real recording of the set he played at fabric. Right?

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

its like the signature digweed mixing between tracks and long transitions are not there at all in the digital download i bought and put on my iphone

#1811799Post 24 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

If you purchased from Bandcamp the individual tracks are unmixed but you also get the four parts in mixed format as well (tracks 1-4 from Bandcamp).

ah, i see - thanks!

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Just started listening to my copy (0684 /1000). Loving CD1 so far. Nice laid back vibes, and with 4 discs / 5 hours it's nice to hear it building up.

Will have to pick up the unmixed version on Bandcamp soon. Probably when I get the Quivver album remix package.

^^^^ where are you at? All of us in the USA are waiting still?

I'm in the UK buddy. I've heard there have been terrible delays overseas, so fingers crossed for you that your copy turns up soon!

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Yeah its been a wait...not sure why, the blue Bedrock B light i ordered in September showed up quick enough.

#1811840Post 30 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

is anyone else who purchased the digital album via Bandcamp noticing the unmixed tracks don't exactly match the tracks in the mix? wondering if that's a licensing thing where only some tracks got licensed to Bedrock for individual sale. Curious.

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Two full listens through now and I found the mix to be quite enjoyable. I am uber-biased obviously. The more of these Live In sessions I can get the better!

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

I really like it. Its perfect in all the right ways...bangs at the right pace and manages to sound old school and futuristic fresh at the same time.

Very much liking his sounds the last couple of years more than ever. This easily is one of my favorite of the Live In series, if not the best of them. 5 hours breezes by, amazing stuff really

#1811863Post 33 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

I'm only half way through, but I love the first 2 CDs. CD2 in particular has been great night time driving music. This is the first Live In mix that reminds me a little of his GU mixes. Seems to have a similar kind of vibe, and kind of thing he'd be putting together if that series was still running (other than the odd release every 3 years).

#1811869Post 34 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

^^^ Agreed, much more progreesive sounding than alot of his other Live In sets. Maybe all those bunker sets made him reevaluate some sounds. Not that it isnt Modern Digweed, with the tech house sprinkled in. But I feel the vibe was quite throwback in a lot of ways while still being fresh and forward thinking in the way Digweed is known for.

I do like that its the entire set too, 5 hours/4cds is about perfect length (although I no problem at all with 9cd Montreal).

I love it, its his best released cd in years. Makes me happy that 22+ years after first hearing him hes still the fuckin man!

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

+1 to everything you just said dude -- best discs from diggers in long time and full of warmth and emotion and he will always remain the GOAT and this shows why, just a class act

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Three listens on & I'd put this one in the top 3 of his Live in Series.

#1811910Post 37 of 39

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

Finished listening to this now. Glad I waited until I had time to listen to it properly rather than just chucking it on as background music. I've liked all the Live Ins, Quattros, Structures etc, but this is hands down his best Mix CD set in years. First one I can remember since GU019 where I've just wanted to play it through again straight away (sadly it will have to wait as I have a backlog of stuff to listen to, including all those Heavenly Remixes CDs that John recently championed on Transitions).

Absolutely love it. Definitely picking up the Bandcamp version for the unmixed tracks as there are some amazing tunes in there. Highly recommended if anyone reading this hasn't picked it up yet.

My only complaint is the packaging. It looks as nice as always, but it's quite difficult to open the box to get the CDs out without any kind of cutout on any of the sides. If you're opening it a lot for multiple replays I can see it getting damaged quite easily when trying to wiggle it loose to open it.

Re: John Digweed-Live in London (Fabric)

I understand this is unpopular opinion but this mix is really nothing special for me. Most tracks are just fillers nothing more. One-two stand out tracks like Petar's, remix for Lars' classic Diabla, Soel's and thats all. Will try to listen again but really not much hope here.
