Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

lol is Digweed a Mixcloud company man now? Making a point to say buffering issues might be people's internet connection rather than Mixcloud.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

Haha - He started going on about how the buffering issues are all our fault - and the stream stopped mid sentence!

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

Buffering? I don't get it when I use Netflix or Prime.

On a separate note, some of the comments are unreal;
Lord Diggers was in a real angry dirty mood tonight folks....
Another choice cut:
When diggers plays outright filth is when he is at his best...thats why he and sasha were like fish and chips...sasha brought the melodies...diggers brought the dirty basslines..i always preferred diggers...maybe i need therapy. Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

I will bet that his idea of outright filth is nowhere near what Digweed was playing. If someone says to me outright filth, I think of them fuctked up dark techno sets that I have heard from Tenaglia, Cox, Nasty, and even Buridge, proper druggy music. I have never heard that from Digweed.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

Anyway, I hope now Diggers has given us all a stern ticking off, we'll stop complaining about the buffering. Even though I have no problems streaming 4 hour + YouTube videos, and Mixcloud starts buffering once I get past the hour mark EVERY WEEK.

(In fairness I only had to refresh twice last night - something of an improvement, but then it was only a 2 hour set. I think maybe he didn't really want to be there last night, but I can understand his frustration at not being able to earn a living through his DJing after almost a year now. The novelty has clearly worn off)

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

I dont read comments, Bunkers are always background music for me.. But there are so many idiots commenting that it is unreal..

He is playing for free from his basement for 31 week.. He delivered more than 90 hours of music, and people are still whining... bring Sasha, play this, play that... I'd be very annoyed if I was him :D

Its like youre an actor, and you won an Oscar.. and the first question is what are you going to do next? :D

#1804184Post 11 of 43

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

That's a fair point. Like you, I don't read the comments as a rule (I do glance at it occasionally) and usually try and catch up on some reading whilst listening live. But I remember not long ago someone accused him of pre-recording the mix, so there are definitely some idiots in the chat. Don't blame him for getting fed up with it.

It's free and it's still amazing. Too bad for the buffering issues, but it's getting boring.

Found this one to be a bit strange....some great music but the flow wasn't there for me.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

While yes it is free to listen/watch live, I don't think that makes it an acceptable excuse when a) Mixcloud buffers throughout the stream & b) The show is only accessible for playback via a subscription, which happens to be a poor service & poor sound quality.
It's free and it's still amazing. More interested in finding & savings the files for my collection to listen to later.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

It's all about finding the bloody mp3 now :).

I'm definitely looking forward to the NYE event too.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

So....I paid sixty bucks to have good version of Audio Hijack and I've recorded and downloaded 29-31.

Mixcloud Live is still a beta, that's the truth.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

He showed his watch on the camera to prove it was live.

On #31 he said that when you have problems with streaming, there is possibility that the issue is with your connection..

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

John must have stock in mixcloud. he sounded pretty ticked off at all the buffering comments.

Maybe Diggers has got cabin fever. Anyone with A Netflix account will be able to tell if it's their internet connection.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

Never interact with any cunt on social media platforms is a good matra to have. Something Diggers has let slip recently.

Re buffering, id say the chances of a bad connection world over is unlikely :D im on fiber BB and nothing fucking else buffers. Mixcloud is wank. Maybe diggers needs to get used to that too.

i did not really like his message during the broadcast, basically saying Mixcloud is infallible and any problems are ours. Mixcloud have their own IT support, let them deal with the complaints. that being said, #31 was most enjoyable apart from the last 2-3 tracks.

Its also important to not forget that the only reason he went to Mixcloud was because Facebook kept booting him. If Facebook had gone swimmingly he would never have moved in the first place and none of this would be an issue. The unity/allegiance to Mixcloud is one of monetary value, not quality of listening pleasure. Which is, lets face it, what fucking music is all about.

Mixcloud is wank and always has been.

Me neither.

As a lot of us have stated. we are running decent connections. If the masses speak of a problem, putting yourself on the moral high ground is counter productive.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #31 (05-12-20)

No #32 tonight it seems. Not really a surprise as he barely managed 2 hours last week and was a bit sweary during #30 (not to mention the Mixcloud lecture last week - think we've gone over that enough now!). Good to have a gap until the NYE show to hopefully keep it special, but don't think his heart's really in it anymore. Who can blame him after nearly a year? Must be frustrating when your job takes you all over the world.

Dave Seaman's stream was great. Maybe because it was pre-recorded there was no buffering. Does it really matter that it is live or not?

I think he's going to start having more guests be a part of the Bunker Series. The next Bunker is set to have an excellent guest that I'm really excited about.
