Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

Have to admit - was a bit surprised when he announced the last track at 2.5 hours and then it cut off. Wonder if he's getting tired of the whole thing.

Was great all the same.

I think it was just due to the fact it's fathers Day today. Maybe just having a day with the family. Nice to see the human side of him ❤️
“Digweed has provided us with a solid residency, week in and out. He’s demonstrated a clear understanding of the moment and used house music to make a statement. But Sasha, man those tunes, he’s not playing a dj set, he’s creating a new moment out of the tunes. Digweed is a love letter to the past moments and now, Sasha still takes us into the future.”
I want to shoot myself.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

lol ... no pleasing some people.

I can safely say from Sasha's playlist some of those tracks are firmly entrenched in the past 12 months.

Awesome, thanks for the all the hard work. Prefer this week's mix more than last week's.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

Me too! It was getting really funky/tribal this week, e.g. around 50-60min

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

How many more weeks do we think he'll persist with these? Seeing artists return to gigs, though minimal amounts of gigs.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

Maybe he will make it fortnightly.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

I know we've been spoiled with these mixes - and the ones from other DJs, Nick Muir, Guy J, Behrouz, Sasha, Dave Seaman, etc, etc, have been a real highlight. I will definitely miss them.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

i guess we will see next week. If he puts in another shorter set, I think we are on the way out.

Virus is still rife worldwide, but they are starting to fly and open things up. I think we are heading towards a second wave, so you never know we may get part 2

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

I feel like the shorter set for #15 was because of Fathers Day the following Sunday.

Hopefully we get a 4 hour #16!

Well, on the other hand, if he keeps the same pace, with a bunker set every week, I'm not sure for how long I'll be able to keep up grabbing the high-res live stream. We might have to fallback to the (paid) Mixcloud Select one which sounds like 144kbps mp3...

Even that one isn't available as a download though, ...but at least getting the 'official' file is possible and doable with a bunch of Bash scripts.

Digweed just confirmed #16.

Re: John Digweed - Bunker Session #15 (20-06-20)

Jesus fucking Christ. The likelihood of the shorter sets is probably more to do with the duration they can run before they get a break in the stream. Maybe John is too busy extrapolating the spek report. The man smashed out Transitions every week for 20 years. Conspiracy engines fired up.

Haha nah.. should he cared about the spek he'd use SoundCloud instead of Mixcloud Select
