You can't please all of the people all of the time.

This is a radio show that goes out globally, so the mix can't be aimed at a select few that want a hard bangin' set i.e. needs to cater for a range of listeners moods. Some of XOYO sets and the Space set in recent times gave you the more peak time music. Plus we got Live In London.

It's the first time we've had a Punta Del Este set - so I'm happy with it being released as its great to hear what he plays over in South America in their holiday period. And from the comments a fair amount of people like the mix - also many people play music in the am on their way to work.

Hopefully John will mix it up next time he airs a set.

One of my favs of the last few years was the Cavo set, and that was chilled too, must be me mellowing in my old age.

I wasn't slagging Digweed off. Still the best dj there is imo, just seems to have been loads of " warm up" sets from him over last few months. Wouldn't really class his XOYO sets as full on tbh. Just want some vortex action tbh. I'm selfish like that ;-)

Just listened to the first half and I really enjoyed it. I think it's not too common that we get a nice warm up set from Digweed.

Some other mellow sets from Digweed: Live in Cordoba Disk 1 Transitions 424 - Ku De Ta, Dallas Texas.

Digweed played hard and trippy at the Vagabond, just check the videos out - it's not that his style is always 'deep house' he generally plays a different set depending on where he goes, and most of the time he stars off with the chugging beats.

but when you drop a track like Maxime Dangles - Lyoc, you know he means business!

This is the most important thing that separates a great DJs (like Digweed) from just good DJs - the ability to adapt your sound to different crowds,venues and moods... hmm ''deep house'' Digweed and ''indie dance/nu disco'' Sasha can actually fit together couse this is where they are close with their styles,if we think about b2b between these two..but the whole set would sound just as a big warm-up then? eh..

Not many People will say this, but Sasha and Digweed have being playing the same tracks, These tracks are brilliant, but what differs with Digweed is he hits 4th gear - where as Sasha lately just seems to chug along.

There's also tracks that would never crossover between their sets. I can only go on what i've seen of Sasha on videos/mixes as I haven't seen him for a while, I have seen Digweed though and sadly he was only just getting into 2nd gear before the event was unexpectedly stopped due to some dickheads playing up and making threats.

I would hate to see John D and Sasha playing the same kind of set - that's what makes me love them both, their differences.

If JD a Sasha did play back to back, in that style - it wouldn't just become a big warm up set, it would be severely lacking that certain something, a big reason why I can't imagine a Hot creations night, it just plods along.

They have never played the same set, that's why they make magic together. Digweed's deeper stuff complemented Sasha's more atmospheric and trancier sounds.

It was just hypothetical, I don't mean in the past, I'll be honest I wasn't old enough to see their masterful day's together, or rather I was but into 'funky house' - people mention they couldn't do B2B as their styles are so different.

Their styles aren't so different now at all they both play tracks by (Hot since 82/Edu Imbernon/Gerd/Kolumbo/KinK/etc) Damn everyone's playing this new 'deep house' sound, Sasha doesn't play like he did 3 years ago, never mind back in the day. he played Cirez D etc when I started going to see him - now it's a lot of stuff by Dusky and that sound...
