  1. Dominik Eulberg - Offenbach (Ein Stueckchen Urstoff EP) [Traum Schallplatten | Traum V156]

Its something you usually don't want to hear in a information sheet... that "this release is the best he has done so far", but we are quite sure "Ein Stueckchen Urstoff" is a phenomenal piece of techno and 100% unique! Defying genres such as melodic techno, or manipulated music, glitch or whatever.

"Ein Stueckchen Urstoff" reflects on Dominik Eulberg’s sound design he developed for his "Diorama" album, fused with much more hedonistic force, phantasy and tons of wit to go with it.

The a-side "Offenbach" brings the "collective feel" in dance music to a new level. Parts of the percussions in his track are so slack they make you feel like being slapped in the face with a wet towel whereas others are even melancholic and some synth sounds are so euphoric and explosive you get carried away big time. Dominik creates these strange and bizarre sounds and soundscapes that evoke that childlike sense of wonder you feel when experiencing something for the first time. It is as if Dominik was inventing his own language speaking in an unpredictable tongue of spontaneity — but with all the weirdness. What's really stunning is the fact that everyone who has heard the track, seems to celebrate it relentlessly. "Offenbach" is an absolutely highlight and very DJ friendly as well.

"Die Blaue Sekunde" is equally breathtaking and groundbreaking! It’s beats are made out of exploding firecrackers and acoustic "rooms", they are huge and spacious as anything. The melodies rotate with brutality and hyper dynamics take place sucking in your energy like a tornado. Switching from one extreme to the next one as if both were brother and sisters, Dominik plunges into a pool of lush sounds in the break… as if taking a bath in one of the Westerwaelder lakes Dominik lives close to. "Die Blaue Sekunde" is an emotional roller coaster of the finest quality you don't want to miss.

"Microorgasmen Im Morgentau" the b2 track on the vinyl is a cinematic soundtrack with a DJ twist… It’s much more intimate, personal and serious then the other two tracks. A moody journey of a track without being deep house or whatever is so fashionable these days. The track has a rather medieval quality something which has been said about Aphex Twin with his early " Coustic Window" tracks.

The bonus track which comes only with the digital version of the release "Als Er Den Gleißenden Rand Seines Schattens Sah" is a piano track Dominik recorded while it was storming and rainy outside left alone with a candle, matches and twenty taxidermically prepared animals.

  1. Li-Polymer - The Dreamer [Lowbit Records | Promo]

Madeira's Li-Polymer is no stranger to Resident, and was last seen on 082 with 'Mission Control'. The Dreamer [Lowbit Records] was previously broadcasted on episode 076, with 'Voices & Visions' and 'Supernatural' broadcasted back on 045 and 042. These tracks subsequently came out in September on Liquid Grooves [LQDG0094].

  1. Beat Syndrome - Ebullience [Movement Recordings | MOVD060]

The 60th release on Movement Recordings sees the hugely up and coming duo Beat Syndrome returning to the label for a follow up single to their 'Fantasy EP' which was released in June of 2012. Hamed Safi and Navid Mehr hail from Toronto, Canada and make up the Beat Syndrome production team. They have really risen though the electronic music ranks at a quick pace over the course of 2012. Their aforementioned 'Fantasy' EP scored huge recognition from Hernan Cattaneo who included 'Chimera' in his June 2012 chart while Beatport also fully backed the EP as 'Fantasy' topped the famous 10 Must Hear Progressive House releases for the week of its release. The duo's new single for Movement is entitled 'Ebullience' and first appeared on the labels 'Beach Stories' compilation from September. It was the final track on the Night Edition and was one of the standouts from the two part compilation. The grinding tones, incandescent bells and emotional melodic lines sounded tailor made for Hernan Cattaneo and he was one of the tracks biggest supporters. For the 'Ebullience' single we have two new remixes that are supplied by Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic and Stergios.

The first remix is provided by the legendary trio behind the Mistique music imprint who are returning to Movement for their third overall appearance. Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic have continued to build on their already tremendous success over the course of 2012. With appearances on Movement, Mesmeric, Limeroads and John OO Fleming's Joof imprint the trio continues to expand its production horizons and with Mistique Music reaching a milestone 300th release in October the trio's label has never been stronger. For their 'Ebullience' interpretation Michael, Levan and Stiven Rivic have delivered an incredibly trippy rework that ranks right up there with the trio's most unique compositions to date. A pulsating groove sits at the foundation while a plethora of swirling, psychedelic electronics and wispy, dreamlike atmospherics hover above. The drop is comprised of a bed of subtle acid hooks which deliver some wonderfully warm tension before the driving framework gets reintroduced for a suitably epic finale.

The final remix on the package comes from Stergios who is returning to Movement for his fourth overall appearance. The Greek producer last appeared on the label with his 'Secret Love EP' which was released in May of 2012. Stergios has delivered a perfect complement to the package with a late night, back room style gem of a remix. The skippy, dance floor friendly groove is surrounded with softly textured piano keys, bubbly bass stabs and a modulating guitar tone which serves as a wicked backdrop. The break presents a warm wall of sub bass which evolves through a variety of chord changes over a windswept soundscape. The late night groove then reappears for an ultra smooth and flawlessly contemporary sounding finish to the package.
