The second part of Loco records' Unreleased features remixes of Dirty Culture's "Fade In, Fade Out" and Darius Vaikas & Chris Minus's "Soulshaker" prepared by Ferdy and Deepswell respectively.

04. Danza Macabra - The Woods (Patlac Remix) (The Interpretation Of Dreams EP) [Darkroom Dubs | DRD057D]
In 2011, Silicone Soul pronounced the Danza Macabra remix of Patrick Zigon's "Momento Magico" as one of their favourite tracks of the year. High praise indeed and today they build on that support as they welcome the Slovenian duo to Darkroom Dubs, with the release of "The Interpretation Of Dreams." In 2009, the duo launched their self-titled record label as a platform for their own productions. With over ten releases and a roster of artists that includes the likes of Mihai Popoviciu , Patrick FEOS, Cosmic Cowboys, Axel Bartsch and Patrick Zigon, Danza Macabra Records has established itself as a purveyor of quality deep and emotional electronic music. Their latest EP is led by the trance-inducing, "The Woods." Its sultry sweet vocal is the bait, as it entices us beyond the trees but our attention is snatched back by the rasping and yet beautiful horn melody. Liebe*Detail artist Patlac gets to work on the remix and keeps things simple. Flowing strings lead the way as the original's horns are kept for the final third of the mix. Deep. The title track is yet more wonderful late night atmospherics. Warm bass and warped yet pretty synth melodies make this a starlight delight. Final cut "Getcha Wiv Me" features more sensual vocals, this time from Croatian chanteuse Diyala. Wrapped in sweeping strings and with a touch of eastern flute, it brings a impressive package to a close. Enjoy!
Hernán Cattáneo - “This Patlac Remix is REALLY good! Maximum support from me of course!”
Maya Jane Coles - “Thanks for this guys, I’m really liking Interpretation Of Dreams. Will try it out!”
Nick Warren - “Fabulous release!! The title track is spot on and The Woods is just excellent!”
Jozif - “Both versions of The Woods are absolutely immense! Love this!! Thanx.”
Nuno dos Santos - (Trouw) - “Patlac remix is epic & trancey in a very good way! Also like the quirky and spherical interpretation of Dreams!”
Rodriguez Jr - “This is a great ep! The Woods stands out to me most. Will be playing this! Thanks.”
X-Press 2 - “Loving The Woods - great strings.”
Matthias Vogt (Motorcitysoul) - “Hey, i feel connected to this ep for some reason... somebody owes me a pizza i guess! Double cheese! Nice elegant darkness in the original tracks, and one of my favourite producers these days, Mr Patlac takes it to a whole new level. Blissful strings! Well done chaps and don't forget the pizza!”
Guy J - “This is sounding really great, especially the Patlac remix. Perfect for me! Thnx good luck.”
Jose Maria Ramon - (Ibiza Global Radio) - “Very nice an deep. Perfect for my shows on Ibiza Global Radio.”

05. John Debo - Reconciliation [Mindwarp Records | MW15]
Mindwarp is the Boston based label founded by John Debo in 1993, and still keeping it deep, dark and dirty in sunny Orlando USA. 2012 saw a relaunch of this label after a 10 year hiatus, with Chris Fortier getting things underway with his Benefit Of Doubt EP [MW13].

John Debo Bio
For John Debo, his first UK tour in 1992 (albeit a couch tour) developed into much more. Crashing on the couch of one Dave Seaman, one half of Brothers in Rhythm and A&R Director for the then highly profiled Stress Records, John sat back and enjoyed the latest tunes from Dave and his label. As John happened to have a cassette of his new production work, he left it with Dave to enjoy. Days later John was offered a record deal for his Mindwarp project on Stress.
Not a bad way to break into the somewhat mafia-esque world of the UK dominated world of progressive tunes - not at all. This rapid acceptance reflects the pattern that John has brought to his work as a DJ, promoter and producer. His vision boils down to something fairly simple, music.
Founding two of Boston’s pioneering club nights, Chrome & Avaland were conceived as conduits to bring forward thinking DJs and upfront dance music from around the world to Boston. His vision is global, not provincial. Chrome quickly garnered a reputation of being one of THE club nights in the US and Avaland was selected by Mixer Magazine as the #1 club in America for 2002.
Of course, what is most important to this DJ is the music. He cringes at the common practice of genre based labeling of music. His focus, as John likes to put it, is on timeless tunes.
The spell he casts over dance floors has been felt worldwide with seminal gigs at Avalon in Boston, New York & LA, The Church & Beta in Denver, Spundae in San Francisco & Chicago, Space in Miami, Aria & Stereo in Montreal, Guvernment & Koolhaus in Toronto as well as Bedrock & Renaissance in the UK and Space in Ibiza, just to name a few. His sound has been captured on two mix CDs: Chrome 01 on Bliss and Logic Trance 5 on Logic 3000.
Given the success of his debut material on Stress, it should be no surprise that Debo has found a home for his other work. His remix work and original production has been featured on highly respected labels like Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. He has managed to bring his signature touch to a vast array or quirky tunes. Highlights include work for an eclectic range of artists from cutting edge 80’s bands Modern English and Frankie Goes To Hollywood, to pioneering 90’s bands Blur and The Charlatans UK as well as groundbreaking artists Everything But The Girl.
2004 sees John leaving frigid Boston for sunny Orlando Florida to focus on his true passion – the music. The move allows him to fully explore his artistic mind and immerse himself in writing and production. The future for John has never been more clear – become a breathing component to his studio and share his music with the world.

06. Guy Gerber - Steady feat. Jaw [Supplement Facts | SFR 033]
Following the recent release of his stunning ‘fabric64’ album, international virtuoso Guy Gerber brings his mesmerizing productions back on to home ground to release on his Supplement Facts imprint. dOP frontman Jaw, London based producer Midland and Footprintz golden boy Clarian North step in to lend their artist talents, creating nothing short of a flawless release.
First up and setting the tone, ‘Steady’ kicks off with a stripped back pumping beat, rolling throughout the track as a driving, magnetic undercurrent. Electronic guitar chords unfold into the mix creating wonderful layers of hazy bliss and a divine sense of emotion, eerie yet inspiring. The distorted smooth vocal coming from dOP’s Jaw flows effortlessly through the melodics, as soaring synths progress into the equation with subtle rises and builds, leaving you warped in a world of powerful emotion and rhythmic harmony.
Over on the B-side Midland steps in to add his personal touch to ‘Steady’. Heavier than the original with a powerful bass, thick pads and sonic synths, the track develops into a epic build destined to dominate any dance floor at peak time. Originally from Leeds but now residing in London, things have been moving rapidly from strength to strength for the talented producer since he appeared on the scene in 2010 alongside long-time friend Pearson Sound with their anthemic ‘Your Words Matter’. Since then he has released on the likes of Phonica and Aus Music and remixed for artists such as Julio Bashmore and the 2 Bears.
After featuring on two of the tracks on his ‘fabric64’ album, Gerber calls once again upon the talented Clarian North, one half of the enigmatic Canadian duo Footprintz who have been making a huge impression on the industry since their track ‘Utopia’ was released on Visionquest last year. Perfectly complimenting each other’s style, this time they edit ‘The Golden Sun And The Silver Moon’, one of the tracks featuring on the ‘fabric64’ album. A fine dose of modern electronica, perfect dreamy layers immerse you in a pool of heart-warming magic and euphoria
With this release and through his technical dexterity and emotive genius, Guy Gerber proves ones again why he is one of the biggest names in the business.
[Ibiza Voice Review]
Standing astride the genre divide that courses through house, trance and prog, Guy Gerber has more than made a name for himself over the last few years pushing a particular strain of 4/4 that may not be one thing or the other, but has his indelible stamp all over it. And it'll come as no surprise to those that follow him the closest that the two original versions on this release adhere faithfully to his successful blueprint. Shoegazing this isn't, but melancholic longing is strong nevertheless, and if you like your music veering almost towards the symphonic and quasi-religious, then Gerber's your man.
The biggest surprise for me is that the remixers stay quite close, in mood and feel at least, to the original. I was expecting Midland at least to let slip the dogs of war and distance himself a little, but his version is neither a facsimile of it, or worlds away. Nestling somewhere in the nether regions of passive aggression, he makes the beats more abrasive and roughs things up, but not much. There's more darkness and fuzz, the vocal feels more prominent, the synths more restrained. Gerber's original has an unexpected bounce and characteristically clean production. This is further amplified in the edit of 'The Golden Sun & The Silver Moon' on which half of Footprintz, Clarian North, collaborates.
The opalescent, transcendent ambience that envelops 'Steady' at times is heightened here and the breathiness more pronounced. As for the original version, I'm getting verdant, elf-populated forests a la "Lord Of The Rings" with the sun's rays shining through the trees. It's not an unpleasant sensation though.
So this release neither surprises or disappoints. Gerber won't convert many with this polished dreamy take on tranced-out house, nor will he disappoint any of his growing legion of fans. In this respect the oxymoron "progressive" could be said to ring true, but music like this is a long way from finding itself in a cul-de-sac, containing, as it does, the emotive power to rise above its context and become more than the sum of its parts.

The original of 'Black Lemon Trees' featured on 'Apples & Apricots' EP [WA033] in May 2012:
"If you are not familiar with Deepfunk, you will be soon. This Malta-based producer has been lighting up the charts lately and gaining support from the worlds' top DJs and producers.
Hailed as "a monstrous release that will certainly raise a few eyebrows across the DJ world", Apples And Apricots is the latest and arguably most epic work from Deepfunk to date. 09. Hot Chip - Flutes (Sasha remix) [Last Night On Earth | LNOE009]
Sasha's label, Last Night On Earth continues to maintain it's forward thinking approach to releasing a diverse range of quality electronic music.
Finally seeing the light of day is Sasha's take on Hot Chip’s “Flutes". Having been a firm favourite and closing track of many of his recent sets, he twists it in to his classic melodic vibe that only he does so well, taking the original into a new dimension for the clubs and festivals.
Beautiful synth work builds and breaks throughout the track, with tight drum programming keeping the track flowing and taking you on a melodic journey, as only Sasha can do.
