Diorama Remixes Pt 2
Dominik Eulberg // Traum Schallplatten
Format // 12" + Digital (w. extra tracks)
A1. Der Tanz der Gluehwuermchen (Kollektiv Turmstrasse „Dirt Glow“ Remix)
B1. Die 3 Millionen Musketiere (Extrawelt remix)
B2. Die 3 Millionen Musketiere (Gabriel Ananda „Kleines Woelkchen“ Remix)
Digital 1. Der Tanz der Gluehwuermchen (Rone Remix)
Digital 2. H2O (Hot Chip Extended Vocal Remix)
Digital 3. H2O (Hot Chip Extended Instrumental Remix)
Digital 4. Teddy Tausendtod (Stephan Bodzin "Zebra" Remix)
The second part of the „Diorama“ remixes offers again some of the finest producers around.
Starting with Kollektiv Turmstrasse! What kicks off as a Chez Damier groove makes the transition into a loose dub monster. Collecting traces of the original sound and dispersing them with magic movements we see why Kollektiv Turmstrasse are a top act. Shifting the attention from the front to the far back from the obvious to the abstract... Turmstrasse create that parallel groove on top of the groove which seems to tighten up with every minute. Fine particles of sounds are sprayed onto the relentless groove and make it a real crowd pleaser.
An amazing remix comes from Hot Chip who have remixed “H2O”. Bubbling synth sounds meet the melodies of the original, resulting in a laid back tune that makes contact to the melodic Detroit Techno such as exercised through Red Planet and UR productions by Mad Mike. The airy and breezy parts are due to the fantastic vocals of Joe Goddard and the elevating and heart braking synth sounds by Felix Martin that seem to come from the middle of the earth to surface at times in an enveloped euphoric movement.
There are three versions here, make sure you listen to the extended version as well since this shows even better the spiritual side of it, it is a digital bonus since it was too long for the vinyl. There is also an instrumental long mix for all of you who would like to hear the pure synths.
Extrawelt have remixed “Die 3 Millionen Musketiere” and have improvised on the original melodic theme, extending it... taking it successful into another “played” direction, leaving behind marks of gloom... all silvery and white as momentums.
Reciting old school Chicago house here, using disco claps and early UK rave elements, it is kept in the style Extrawelt are known for with their recent releases.
We believe him when Gabriel Ananda says he will turn the original more into a club track. There is no reason why he will not make this happen... since he is a man of virtue and a true believer and a close friend of Dominik Eulberg having released together with him on Traum three times already. Gabriel twists sequences like mad, uses feedbacks and a bit of muscle... all of this accumulating in the “suffocation break down”, a “real highlight” as Dominik has put it.
Rone’s remix of “Der Tanz der Gluehwuermchen“ came in last minute. Rone has been coming strong with his music and has been supported by Dominik Eulberg for some time now. The remix recites the original but launches into an improvisation adding other chords mixing the theme up strong.
On the “Diorama remixes pt 2” we also offer a third version of “Teddy Tausendtod“ by Stephan Bodzin in the break beat “Zebra” version.

Digital Bonus track:
Journey (KiNK Dub) (8:04)
Taking the next level, the infectious grooves and fiercely beauteousness of the highly acclaimed Prommer & Barck album „Alex & The Grizzly“ are mesmerized here any further. KiNK , San Soda and Norman & Jerome Sydenham captivating the journey into the variety of idiosyncratic house music.
KiNK’s coproduction with a various number of esteemed DJs and producers, like Laurent Garnier or Macro’s head Stefan Goldmann, Bulgarian-based KINK gained a certain status in the underground dance music scene. His innovative style of producing jumps between house grooves and experimental electronica with an acid connotation, gained in releases on such diverging labels like Cocoon, Liebe Detail, Ovum or Permanent Vacation, next to others. Whilst producing dance music he pushes the Bulgarian pop scene as well. Other artists he worked with:
Neville Watson (the collaboration track “Inside Out” it landed at Steve Bug`s prestigious “Bugnology vol. 3” mix compilation), DJ Sneak, DJ Rolando, Osunlade, James Ruskin, Ken Ishii, Llorca, Funk D’Void, Terrence Dixon, Samuel L Session, Paul Woolford, Chris Duckenfield, or Crookers.
Thanks to his refreshing sound Belgium-based San Soda managed to become quite a name in the international house scene. Just take his several 12“ releases on Red D’s We Play House-Label and you will discover nothing but well produced bubbly deep house, soulful techno or sounds that just smoothly waft in between. His critical acclaimed LP „Immers & Daarentegen“ defines his diverse style, which coexists in an emotional, yet intoxicating way.
Norman is Norman Methner, one of the most passionated entrepeneurs in Berlin (he used to work for Hell’s Gigolo), nowadays the head honcho soul behind the Cookies club. He graciously teamed up with Ibadan legend Jerome Sydenham to produce a powerful remix of a track, which both liked so much.

05. Maetrik – Revenge Of Jack (The Entity EP) [Truesoul | TRUE1232]
Maetrik requires little introduction. Without-a-doubt one of the most in demand and respected producers to emerge in the last couple of years, his distinctive and powerful productions for labels as broad-ranging as Cocoon, Mothership, Bedrock and Treibstroff have left an indelible mark across the electronic scene. It is then with great pride and much excitement that we present this three-track EP on Adam Beyer's more left-of-centre Truesoul imprint.
The feel of all three tracks is characterized by an otherworldly deepness that many will recognizable as a trait of Eric Estornel's productions, however even within this record the ever shape-shifting producer display more examples of his almost boundless adaptability. Adopted a dark and mysterious cloak of robot funk, The Entity and Asteroid Funk explore the far reaches of deep, spacey tech house; combining shunting rhythms, undulating bass and haunting harmonics. Revenge Of Jack goes the other way, taking the classic Chicago template and morphing it into a thoroughly modern yet simply arranged house cut; the low-slung kick drum driven along by dramatic strings and nasty acid stabs.
[Dispersion PR]
While his Maceo Plex alias is on the lips of almost everyone in dance music, Eric Estornel returns to his oldest moniker, Maetrik, to deliver a three track techno EP for the Truesoul imprint.
Having released countless techno releases as Maetrik, Estornel is no novice when it comes to tougher sounds and ʻThe Entityʼ showcases his ability to deliver unique, forward thinking techno in spades.
The title track doesnʼt veer too far away from the tempoʼs weʼd associate with the US born, Valencia-based producers work as Maceo Plex but takes on decidely more aggressive and moody standpoint. From the one and half minute, steadily building and increasingly intense intro to the elastic/gutteral bassline combinations ʻThe Entityʼ is a track that displays new detail upon every listen.
The density of production, tension and constant evolution laid out in ʻThe Entityʼ continues with b-side, ʻAstroid Funkʼ. New sounds are introduced from start to finish in ʻAstroid Funkʼ, some smoothly and some out of leftfield but always with a deft touch which makes for a track that is without a dull moment.
Rounding things off is the digital-only cut, ʻRevenge of Jackʼ – which is exactly as itʼs title infers. Old school in its references and aesthetics, itʼs a nice contrast to the ultra-modern vinyl cuts which makes the whole package all the more appealing.
Maetrikʼs ʻThe Entityʼ drops mid-January on Truesoul.

06. David Duque – Wind Master (Scotty.A Remix) [Unreleased]
Scotty A has emerged in the last year as an outstanding producer who is definitely a talent to be watched closely during 2011. His first few productions have seen him recognised by the Global Underground label as well as Russian dj/producer Denis A, this coupled with his extraordinary passion for music and dedication to his craft is certain to see his career soar in the coming months.
Scotty first started to take a serious interest in producing his own tracks in Spring 2009, the quality of his work seemed to jump forward meteorically with each new track and in September 2009 his track “Underestimated” was announced as the unanimous winner of a Global Underground bedroom producer competition sponsored by Mixmag & BoxFresh Clothing. Scotty has since had a production signed to Miami based label Aquasounds. Most recently his remix of Denis A’s track “Heroin” won a competition and is set for release on Denis’ DAR label with Denis currently supporting some of Scotty’s other tracks in his live sets and pod casts.
As well as continuing to dj whenever possible Scotty is unrelenting in the studio, constantly working on new tracks, remixes and bootlegs for his dj sets and continually developing and defining his own sound. With interest from labels, producers, fellow dj’s and most importantly the crowds at his live gigs Scotty A is surely set to be an prominent figure in the future of electronic music.
