how about some local stuff, resorts usually make their own compilations, with of course some cheesy music but also their native, traditional artists. where is that island? get the feel of the culture while you're there too :D

Depends on what you're looking for.
The [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=264"]Danny Howells[/url] Renaissance mix is quite good. I also liked the Chilled Euphoria Compilations - particularly the one mixed by Solar Stone. I'd also maybe consider Chicane's first two albums, the [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=264"]Danny Howells[/url] Essential Mix from 2002 and there's a couple of older Cream Compilations that my wife and I were listening to while on vacation in the Bahamas last month - Cream Ibiza 2001 (has some great anthems - including Planet Funk's Inside All The People, Danny Tanaglia's remix of [url="http://www.mercuryserver.com/forums/djdb.php?id=1393"]Depeche Mode[/url]'s I Feel Loved and others) and this one if you can find it:

For a "generic" mix, it's actually really really good.

Matthew Dear's Black City got me through a trip to Cabo San Lucas a few months ago too. Highly recommended album
