So I'm flying to Germany, Switzerland, and Spain for 25 days! It's a totally company-funded trip, and I'll be leaving on the 15th (the day after I return from Virginia, which I'm flying to tomorrow). They have a budget set for everything, even beer... so what beers are good in these countries? I'll be in Barcelona for 3 days when I'm done working for personal vacation time, so what's there to do in Barcelona, too?

Barcelona's one of my favourite cities ? forget the San Miguel and drink Estrella...
Check out the Gaudi buildings, the beachfront, Gothic Quarter, La Ramblas, etc.
Best bars are in the Gothic Quarter and the Born.

PM me if you need more :D
dont get me wrong i like to drink good beer, i actually brew my own also. but for me drinking cheap beer is something ill hope i never give up. it just seems so snobby to say "oh god i dont drink that shit" im sure the locals in europe just like in america drink the cheap loacl beer and do not go out of their way to drink some extravigant brews. they probably drink a lot of wine there anyways.
follow the Pink Elephants...

Be a beer snob. Life is to short to drink cheap beer. Warsteiner.
I have a buddy who is a DJ and gets to travel to gigs all over the world. Whenever he visits a new city he always samples a local beer and one of their fine ladies. :Naughty: THAT my friends, is how you travel in style.
hell yeah, I definitely want to sample both while I'm out
Drink estrella galicia!!

meh
defnitely belgium and germany. paradise for beer.
As far as German beers go, theres too many good ones too mention. But some of my faves are Beck's, Diebels Alt, Koenig Pilsner, Jever, and any 'hefeweizen' style beer like Hacker-Pschorr or Koenig Ludwig. And any dark beer too. I'm getting thirsty thinking about it.
Have fun and enjoy

Chimay is one of my favorite Belgium beers.
Re: Europe beers
Well for music in Barcelona go to the rasmatad, a taxi knows were it is, or go to the "el puerto deportivo" every day you?ll find nice bars to drink something, Talking know about meals, if you go to BCN taste "monchetas" beans very tipical and "butifarra" , also "pan tomaca" breath with tomato and garlic, gastronomi is very high in BCN, also prepare your walet, if you want more info drop me a PM with your cuestions,
Mmmmm, Belgian beers.....
Can't wait to drink some there next week! :D
I'm partial to Amstel ... you can't go wrong with it.
Or if you just fancy getting completely shit-faced go for Hoegaarden.

blow me. beer is fucking beer.
it's all good in Europe. You generally can not go wrong. Do not listen to these asshats. Be your own taste bud.
just want to try something different, thought someone may know the good beers out on the other side of the world. I'll give these a shot if I can remember any past Stella
I had a friend one time bring back me a 6 pack European beer sampler. Some of those beers were listed at 9-10% alcohol. i guess malt liqour come close but such a shame about the differences in beer quality between America and Europe.
good beer is from Czech Republic. i like Gambrinus,Staropramen,Pilsner Urquell and Kozel.

What the hell is (shotka is an great stout from austria. really really good) :?:
That?s a beer from my country?
Try the Alt beer in Germany. Thats a special kind of beer and its very tasty
mmmmmmm......... Staropramen rocks! Honestly, though, you'll be hard pressed to get a bad beer on tap while you're there. Lots of places have the local brew on tap, so just go for what you don't see a lot of. Each place you go, try a new beer - none of it will be any worse than any beer you've had here, and besides, it's only a pint.
I agree with asdf_admin - just do your own thing - after 3 pints you won't remember a list from on here anyways.
If you are in Germany...try to get a decent Weissbier like Franziskaner, Schneider Weisse or Erdinger. That's totally different to Lager.
