Nick Warren. I'm cool with that. I thought GU 24 was HOT!!!

#350007Post 2 of 44

One of the best. Hopefully this is legit

#350008Post 3 of 44

How many damn gu's is this guy going to due. Everytime he releases one he says it is his last one as well. For fuck sake make up ur mind Nick. It is cool that he is doing one. I just hope that is it good.

#350010Post 4 of 44

again? and again? when we will get new faces doing this?

CHEERS

#350023Post 5 of 44

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

nick again?? nobody wants to listen to the same crap... they should bring new talent. i guess thats why GU sucks now. FABRIC RULES!

#350035Post 7 of 44

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

I'd like to see the following do the GU's...

 1. Jimmy Van M
 2. Chris Fortier
 3. Sean Cusick

I like Nick W. and all, but come on...he's done enough. Let's hear some new people.

#350041Post 8 of 44

^ || Agree, GU definelty need some new recruits to do there cds. It is kinda old seeing the same people do the same stuff over and over again.

i know really. i liked 024(disc 1 only really) but lets have some new faces sheesh. soo many new great dj's and they are stick with the same old faces :(

#350047Post 10 of 44

^^^

Exactly, only the first disc was good of GU024, and only if you were in the chill mood for it. Personally, I really respect Nick but this is rediculous if you ask me. Basically, only like 10 DJs have done 25 GU's, they all just keep doing them, same people over and over. I am definetely with everybody that new faces need to be seen. I want Hernan Cattaneo

#350052Post 11 of 44

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

My vote would be for Sean Cusick. Definately one of the mosted talented DJs today. Great range of musically taste and programming skill....

#350066Post 12 of 44

i thought gu 24 was supposed to be his last mix cd? i liked it anyway... but a bit tired of his style

#350070Post 13 of 44

Why change a winning formula?

Boycott the GU disks and support some lesser known names.

#350077Post 14 of 44

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

i enjoy warren mixes but ye make up ur fukin mind man either its ur last or it aint. id like james holden to do one

#350111Post 15 of 44

You have to understand that doing a GU catapults any DJ into another level of superstardom. The rates for that DJ get higher, the demand triples and the notoriety is increased. The Boxedboys will not be letting just any DJ join the ranks. Agreed, there are some out there that truly deserve to compile a GU, but in the most part, keep the rotation going with new faces coming onto GU every few years, in my opinion.

#350115Post 16 of 44

i see the hype. but whats backing it up? lesson 1, dont trust most of what lv says. :|

#350137Post 17 of 44

I have it. It's okay... Nothing more, nothing less...

#350147Post 18 of 44

Yea I just got it off Psynce, not as good as the Howells GU I got from him though.

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

i thought 24 was one of his best and while i do enjoy his cd's, i would like to hear someone who's pushing the envelope now.

I agree 100% with the three dj's mentioned...Warren can go jump in a lake though...I'm originally from Orlando and remember when all 3 were just getting started...I used to friggin buy records from Mr. Fortier at Underground Record Source and from Mr. Cusick at Vinyl Frontier...he was a prick but he's damn good...Chris was cool and is the absolute shit...Any one of these guys would be alright with me...Nick Warren is one of the worst dj's I've ever heard...worse than Tiesto, worse than Oakey, worse than my 65 year old neighbor with a hunchback...he couldn't match a beat to save his life and his transitions suck ass...he should just stick to producing...

#352961Post 22 of 44

O-Town in tha Heeeezy !!!!

#352964Post 23 of 44

nick warren, it seems to me that in some of his sets he likes to bring out the best of the best of what was... always love to listen to, but at the same time it always seems like he is on top of it all and playing to the masses but at the same time not playing what will be the next best thing in progressive... noting but respect from the sets i have heard from not only NW but WOW... cheers :Cheerz:

#352967Post 24 of 44

i'm gonna hold out for for GU 128 - Live from St Francis' Center for the Elderly.

nick'll be mixing in a rocking chair behind cyber-CDJs.

#352989Post 25 of 44

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

also excited 'bout that!

#352991Post 26 of 44

guys like zabiela and holden should be recruited... im sure they can kick nick's ass any day of the week

#352993Post 27 of 44

I liked his previous GU`s and I look forward to this one as well. He may not be the best mixer on this planet but his trackchoice and programming is without a doubt straight to the point.

Re: It's been confimed another GU album by....

Really not mad bout Nick Warren at all . . . . . Whens Involver 2 out ? ? ?

#353013Post 29 of 44

Nick Warren! Halleluja! Why boycot the GU disks? The best music often comes from these discs.

#353041Post 30 of 44

Argh..... although I'm glad its not deepdish or lavelle.

What GU is this anyway? 26?27?

what does it matter?

I tend to like his GUs. Amsterdam disc one is still on my fave GUs of all time.

#353088Post 32 of 44

HELLO? That's what nubreed and 24:7 are for! (duh! :)

#353179Post 34 of 44

Another vote for Cusick doing the next release

#353183Post 35 of 44

i think cusick isnt good enough for a GU... he's ok, but not enough. his sales arent that big, and his gigs arent that full

#353191Post 36 of 44

That might be true but for me it's all about the music and then he easily qualifies :RightOn:

yeah and when they try to bring new artists they bring on shit like Lavelle
guys like zabiela and holden should be recruited... im sure they can kick nick's ass any day of the week
oh hell yah holden in a second if zabiella gets a GU I will fucking puke, that kid has no musical flow whatsoever
i think cusick isnt good enough for a GU... he's ok, but not enough. his sales arent that big, and his gigs arent that full
HELLO? That's what nubreed and 24:7 are for! (duh! :)
And how long has it been since we've seen a NuBreed disc? And I don't think 24/7 is there to promote new artists, it is a series for having music to accomadate you 24/7. Which is why they always had 2 discs, one for day which was more mellow and chill, and one for night which was more bangin. Besides, Danny and Lee were hardly nu to the seen.

#353466Post 39 of 44

I boycotted the Lavelle cd's but i'll be buying this.

I know this to be sure as I have a friend who has his own record shop in columbus that told me there is a mail that he got asking for submissions for the next cd. Nick wants all unsigned stuff and unreleased stuff. I guess it helps make the cd a bit easier to release when all the songs have no labels behind them.

The 2dn cd off of the Iceland discs is sweet.

GU does need some new blood. And not another damn breaks dj like lavelle is.

#353507Post 40 of 44

Seems like they are afraid to experiment too much after they nearly went under. Nick Warren is a pretty safe bet from his past efforts. What happened to the 24:7 series thats what I want to know, that got off to a great start...?
