Well it sure is great living in Canada. Weather men are telling everyone to prepare for at least 10'' if not 20'' of snow to fall over the next 2 days.

Sounds like we are all going to get it. You never know though because weather men have been wrong a lot.

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

The current forecast for here is 18-24" beginning tomorrow through late wednesday night. This on top of the 5 feet we've already had this year. I looks like a winter war zone out there with all the snowbanks and snowwalls!

I'm wearing shorts, it was was in the high 70's most of the day. The windows are open...

I say this only to suggest that I couldn't begin to fathom 18 below 0

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

Definitely going to be a lot of snow! We are expecting around the same amount. I am kind of hoping we do. It would be nice to have a day or two off work because the city is snowed in.

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

Seems like we'll just be getting the tail edge up in Ottawa for about 15 cm. Should be in Calgary on Thursday where it will be sunny and a toasty 6 C, woo!

You lucked out mate just in time for the warm chinook winds. We went from a low of -29C Jan 31 to a high of -6C Feb 1. That's an insane 23 degrees C swing in under 24 hours!!!

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

Snow is wild here! Expecting winds at 60km/hr and there are already 4 foot snow drifts at spots on the roads. There is even some freezing rain mixed in and lightening over the lake here like crazy. This is one bizzare storm.

Why am I at work?! Not one customer here yet and we've been open since 7:30am. I hope they shut down and send us home.

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

Ya we had lightning last night at like 3 am. I don't remember ever seeing lightning in the winter. We only got like 5-6''. Nothing crazy.

#1459771Post 23 of 26

Re: OMG 20'' of Snow by Wednesday Night!!

Well, we got maybe 10 cm, nothing major. It was just the bit annoying with the wind always going in the opposite direction to me.

So Calgary was warm! I guess it hit nearly 10C and a lot of melting going on, but now is due 24 cm of snow and -20C by Monday morning. Those wild temperature swings must drive you crazy! Sort of looking forward to getting back to just-plain-cold land....

In other news: Moncton has apparently had 200 cm of snow recently. Awesome.
