ok, so two nights ago Deep Dish played at a private party in Park City, UT for the Sundance Film Festival. I was fortunate enough to be there and witness something that I had never seen before from these guys. Sharam and Ali are the freaking dopest DJ's I have ever seen! I have seen them at different locations various times, but this night was different. Half way through the set, they flipped it on the crowd and played a new rmx of Eric B. and Rakim's Paid in Full.....this destroyed the floor!!!!! Everyone was going insane!!!! Snoop Dogg was off to the side of the stage and was in complete awe. All I can say is thank you. I was a victim of Deep Dish madness.

Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
Re: Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
Eric B & Rakim....holy sh$t. Thats what I love about DD. Only they can pull something like that. Its good to hear you had a fun time. Snoop Dogg must of been saying to himself, "what is this shit?"...and probabily is now a fan of EDM. Deep Dish :Respect:
jealous!
the question is was this set recorded??
well its good to hear that they rocked it..as long as it was only one hip hop track, thats how the whole breaks/ progressive crossover started, one track here one track there , then it was everywhere..so lets hope other djs dont follow this trend..but yeas DD always does shit like that ..i remember a couple of WMC's ago they droped the white stripes and u2 in the middle of the set and the crowd ate it up... it was original rock versions not remixes
Re: Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
oh manm that amkes me angry just hearing about it. Think about all the people that set was wasted on. The majority of those people were secretly pissed off that it wasn't some douchbag playing hip hop and classic rock mash ups. Good stuff though that snoop was digging it. Would love to hear what him and tiefscwarz could cook up.
I doubt it was actually hiphop it was probably just a house remix of them. DD seem to have gotten to be better dj's as time goes on. The set that MS had on here a while back...the toronto one. You could hear them messing up. But now I listen to a set from them and not one trainwreck at all.
saw them last saturday in L.A. well actually it was just Dubfire, but he freakin rocked the place. Especially when I havent seen them play in like 2 yrs. was very pleased. They always rock and have yet dissapointed me.
seeing them a week tomorrow in Cardiff, first time since seeing them at Pacha opening party this summer in ibeefa, can't fooking wait
ps jeffrey collins most djs make the odd mistake even Sasha & Digweed, think back to Diggers in Beirut, fair few mistakes in that mix
ive seen DD at least 6 times in the last year and a half and i dont think ive ever heard them fuck up.... not mayorly
im still in amazed by the whole thing....cool thing also is that i get to finish up the weekend here w/ sasha tonight....eat that one up fellas...
sundance film festival....a new world. a brighter day:)
I love both music! They play very good, and nice music for me!! :!:
I went to Sasha's Involver promotion at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square, NYC last year and there was a guy who looked just like Dubfire wearing a GU:025 Toronto shirt. I just had to ask him, but he wasn't Dubfire :(
I still want to see this duo so badly!
Re: Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
remember their kiss set (i think it was live from bedrock) right after jam master jay died and they opend their set with the run dmc song. that was classic.
deep dish can best be described in the old line
jack of all trades, master of none.
they can cover all types of house music, techno, acid, breaks, detroit. but there are people like diggers, felix, lisle, zabeila, who are better in their particular genres. the bad thing about DD is you never know how they are gonna play, you could walk in expecting something deep and they might play nothing but van helden type stuff. either way, i joy most of their stuff, but have been disaoppointed by them a few times.
Dam, been a while since ive heard any new good set from DD. I think they should be the next Kiss Guest Mix anytime now...... :Naughty:

Definitely would be nice to see them as Kiss guests again. Its been more than two years since their last appearance on the show. :D
Re: Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
^^^^^ Hell yeah, that would be really awsome! Just hope they play the good ol'deepish darkish groove House I've known them to play in the past....I mean we have recent artists play twice in one year on Kiss.... what gives?
While reading this thread, I just had to load my winamp with the '98 Essential mix. That opening track is DOPE!
Deep dish seem to be hit or miss anymore though. Sometime there amazing and other times they act like therer not interested in what there doing. So glad to hear deep dish actually lived to there hype. I still think that there to overrated.
Re: Deep Dish @ Sundance Film
about 2 years ago i saw them at Icon in orlando and the bitches dropped Justin Timberlake rock your body. i was like WTF im outta here. but then ive seen them tear the roof off of Space. Like they say hit or miss.......
