I'm a veggie too! Just bunkered down in the apt today on this snowy afternoon and made some soy sausage chili. Moosehead has a killer vegetarian cookbook that I like.
Right on about the meatless "chicken wings." (w/ some bbq sauce)!!!! ME TOO! I usually eat alot of beans/rice for my protein, other than that...living in nyc I go out to eat alot and it's really easy in this city to find kick-ass veggie options. Try GOBO when you come to the city next. Awesome veggie restaurant!

you're eating chicken, but you're a "vegetarian?" I know a bunch of vegan people, they won't drink milk, eat cheese, etc. They don't eat anything that even remotely comes from an animal... just doesn't make sense. If you're going to eat an animal, then why eat specific ones? What'd chickens do to you that the other animals didn't?

You DID see the part about "meatless" chicken wings, didn't you? It's usually made w/tofu, or soy gluten, or some NON MEAT protein.

I thought so.

#346742Post 12 of 34

just for the record i do eat cheese and egg products.. im a veggie for abuse reasons ya i could eat organic meat, but its past the point of what im accostune too i don't agree woith the way the treat tanaimals for our consumition, the mass production of meat is so cruela and disgraceful, i can't stomach it ( when i was 15 there wa a lot of mad cow disease and shit going around)
Aren't plants living organisms?
o god, not again.............. :?

#346747Post 14 of 34

you vegetarians give me headaches... i dated a girl once that wouldn't even buy regular jello. she had to get non-gelatin jello, because regular jello had some sort of product in there she said she "couldn't eat" since she was a veg... taking it a little far if you ask me, but whatever...

Aren't plants living organisms?
o god, not again.............. :?
Just so you know I choose not to eat red meat. Not for any moral/ethical reason, just because I want to. So please don't think that I'm a vegetarian-basher. I wish I had the ability to do it, but I enjoy chicken too much. I was just posting a satirical question about your comment:
if it was alive i refuse to eat it..

#346750Post 16 of 34

cause jello is made of animal fat, i don't bother with non-jello, i just don't eat it!

I thought so.
Yes, I DID see that part. I just didn't understand why someone would want to eat the feathers and/or bone part of a chicken wing, minus the meat... so I had to ask.

You thought right. Also since I'm not vegan, I don't know your whole "vegan-jargon" so don't get all huffy about it, turd.

check out www.veggieboards.com

good place to go

i was a die hard veg for two and a half years, but i did it wrong and went insane from malnutrition....literally

now...my diet is about 80 percent plant based...i occasionally eat flesh...but im working on getting back to 100 percent vegetarianism

props to all of you who are doing it....

you are helping reduce the marketability of flesh, which is good, and you are helping our environment tremendously

there isnt a single more important thing that we can do to help our planet ecologically than to become a vegetarian....

if you don't believe me, do some research...try reading animal liberation by peter singer
