Just got back from a TDY to Isreal that took place this last Saturday. We were travelling there on 2 C-130's that contained 20 tons of flame retardant furnished by the U.S in an effort to help Israel contain the wildfires in there country. You can read more about it in the articles that are at the links I have provided.
I was there as maintenance support for a video broadcaster sent down to record the story. I basically was there to operate the satellite trasnceiver system so she could beam up the story ASAP from any location, in case condtions didn't allow otherwise. Crazy trip, is all I can say about that. Lots of flying time and we ended up staying 12 hours on the Island of Crete so the flight crew could rest up for the return flight. Crete is gorgeous! I will try and upload the final video product my counterpart came up with as soon as I can.
