So I'm flipping through the channels on my tv and I come across a reality TV show called Club and what do I see buy Paul Oakenfolds giant head all over my tv. Now I'm not going to be able to sleep at night after seeing that. I couldn't help it, I watched a couple minutes of it and everyone was gushing forth praise for Oakey like he was something special, a borderline god,...where has the taste gone?

commercial trash. reality tv is bad enough without Raul Strokenmenspoles on there too.

Re: spike TV does it again

Yeah, I saw that as well. They kept saying he was the top DJ in the world. What a joke, maybe 5 years ago.

when you put out a cd like tranceport, people are gonna think your hell of tight, i never liked anything else from him, but traceport is real classic in my eye. i was thinking about seeing him in sf soon but your right, it will be too crowded with people that dont know wtf they are dong..."OMG HE F-ING LOOKED AT ME!!!!!"

#345035Post 6 of 29

^^^the last time he put on a decent show in SF was about 3 years ago. he's definitely gotten lazy behind the decks, and neither his mixing nor track selection are up to par these days he's so full of himself these days that he's usually only contracted to play 2 hr sets -- and he never plays a minute more. it's a shame, as he once really was one of the best of the best.

i have actually watched almost every episode of this show and it's not that bad in a cheesy mainstream America Spike tv,kind of way.

I can say I actually seen some of that trash last night. I watched like 5 minutes of it and I could not handle anymore then that. It was pure crap.

GOD those are some hairy arms. Why doesn't one of those guys behind him just whip out a razor and go to town.

#345312Post 20 of 29

As I've been saying before, I happened to be there that night and left a few minutes after that ape started spinning. Sandra Collins was pretty good tho. I've been tivo'ing every episode and didnt get a chance to see the last one (maybe I finaly make it to TV --beware).

#346044Post 21 of 29

Man this show is kinda hilarious. Witht the fact that these promoters don't know shit, truly about music "oakenfold is the top dj in the world" yeah right. But the funny part is that broad who thinks she is a party promoter. It's one thing to throw a party at someone's house. It's a totally different thing to do it at a club that holds 2000 people. I honestly can't believe that the guy that heads up Godskitchen would let her back into that place. Screw her stupid celebs.

I really wanna see the end of the season to find out if the club starts to get better or what. As it is a nice place.

BTW, what did you guys think of that opening dj for oakie? Oakie was talking about opening dj's and how they should be. Then that guy get's on the decks and plays a headlining set. What a nutty ride. :Naughty:

#346056Post 22 of 29

Re: spike TV does it again

everytime ive turned it on, they've always only had people sweeping the floors & shit. . noones ever in there doing anything. partying, drinking, maybe im just tuneing in at the wrong tiem.

#346298Post 23 of 29

Tranceport was class.

Well, in that case he shows the right amount of respect for Oki: None.

#346401Post 25 of 29

Yao you are definitely right. But I think that guy has a hard on for oakie. Hell I might even if I had the opportunity to open for him. Can you imagine the booty he's getting now just because of that. Along with the other dj'ing opportunities. :Naughty:

#346413Post 26 of 29

don't know about the other "opportunities", but he was with some pretty nice ladies afterward :Naughty:

#346640Post 27 of 29

Yeah you got that right. Maybe though they were really for oakie. As they do look kinda expensive.
