Hey guys! It's that time again and this month I'm putting on two brand new talents from down under. Although the names might not be so familiar, I can assure you these guys have what it takes!

Kicking off the first section is Canberra's Edward Hassall who's an extremely young, extremely talented guy with exceptional taste in music. Twisted tracks to cave your head and not a cheesy tune in sight. I'm extremely pleased to welcome him into the Proton fold. Watch this guy - if he's this good now, and not even 18, he's going to be HUGE in the future.

Pushing and pulling us through the next two hours is Sydney's Tones (aka Tony Plowman) who has been making waves on both the DJing and production front. Partner in crime with Jono Fernandez, this live DJ mix is as fresh as a schoolgirl's... well... you know what I mean! A fucking awesome dancefloor set of breaksy electro tribal techy rippers and a keen eye for detail. Just what we want for .AUdio!

Catch the first .AUdio of 2005 at these times:

New York (EST): Thursday, January 20 @ 5pm

Los Angeles (PST): Thursday, January 20 @ 2pm

London (GMT): Thursday, January 20 @ 10pm

Sydney (AEST): Friday, January 21 @ 9am

PS: keep an eye on the upcoming months on .AUdio and you'll be very likely to hear James Zabiela's NYE set exclusively. I also happen to record both Jono Fernandez in his first true live set ever, and Zabiela back to back with Phil K for the first time ever. Watch this space!

Hope you all enjoy the show! :)

Watch this space!
     Would absolutely love to hear some Jono! And I've read about that J.Z./Phil K show, people can't stop talking about it. Thanks GranT, you have my interest peaked about tomorrow's show, I'll be there.
Would absolutely love to hear some Jono!
Oh man.. you have no idea how much shit I've gone through to get those sets recorded. It ended up with me basically being called a liar by the owner of the club and that I was bootlegging the sets, then threatening me on the night. Utter bullshit and grossly unprofessional. Not only did it get very messy, it all of a sudden got very public the other day. If you're interested, check out this thread; my reply is about 3/4 down the page as post #93: http://www.inthemix.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=115168&page=2&pp=50

Talk about a fucking mess! Thankfully it's all bullshit from the owner, and the recording was - as always - 100% legit. Where did you hear about the night??

Anyway, that's not too relevant to this week's show which is going to be an absolute fucking RIPPER! :)

Wow GranT! I have to hand it to you though, you had all your ducks in a row so-to-speak and knew exactly what went on and who you had spoken with, etc. I read about the show on a couple of different boards (prog breaks, inthemix, etc). Looking forward to .audio as always.

The even more dodgy thing is that the post I was replying to (by traveller - Ivan Gough) was edited afterwards to cover up the parts that referenced me. That's why my quotes look a little disjointed with the rest of the thread. Since this club owner has been spouting shit to all and sundry about how it was my fault the sound fucked up, I'm refusing to edit mine. He made the bed; now they can lie in it!

Aaaaaaanyway.. enough of that ugliness! On with the show! :)

Show starts in just under 2 hours! Hope you can catch it. :)

New York (EST): Thursday, January 20 @ 5pm

Los Angeles (PST): Thursday, January 20 @ 2pm

London (GMT): Thursday, January 20 @ 10pm

Sydney (AEST): Friday, January 21 @ 9am

PS: Zabiela has just confirmed with me that I'm fine to go ahead with the release of his NYE set - so next month's .AUdio is set to be even bigger!

It was a 3 hour set, but I don't think the one that goes to air will be all of that - see what James is okay to release I guess. There's quite a lot of material I've never heard before, so that might have some impact depending on whose productions they are.

#348795Post 21 of 21

FYI - you can get on-demand streaming versions of both sets on inthemix as well! :)

Edward Hassall's: http://www.inthemix.com.au/fm/19486/

Tones': http://www.inthemix.com.au/fm/19487/

...you may also wish to check out a brand new Hernan promo I've also just put on there. Link is: http://www.inthemix.com.au/fm/19485/

Enjoy! :)
