This has got to be the worst week in Mercury server's history, all sets in the download section are poor.

Digweed - has lost it completly

Lee Burridge - awful!! and overrated!

Jondi&Spesh - how did these people get into music

DjVillo - average set at best

Re: Poorest sets in MS history
apologies but how about this. Why not just keep it to yourself or say that the sets weren't for you? If you don't like them, fine...I think tranceaddict is still hosting sets you will probably enjoy.

Re: Poorest sets in MS history

he's just giving his honest opinion, if a set sucks, id like to know before dl ing besides theres plenty of albums/sets that got bad reviews on here by some that still rocked ( i still haven't found anyone, outside of ms, that dosen't like balance 5  .) someone even said the other day to listen to some oldschool sets cause the later ones haven't been up to par  which i completely disagree with, im dl the newest diggers showcase , ill see for myself :Nice:

Re: Poorest sets in MS history
he's just giving his honest opinion, if a set sucks, id like to know before dl ing besides theres plenty of albums/sets that got bad reviews on here by some that still rocked
So you're saying that you want to know if a set sucks before downloading? I'm assuming so that you don't waste your time, that's how your statement is worded. Then you go on to say that there are plenty of sets that got bad reviews that still rocked. How would you know if you never downloaded/bought them because you heard they sucked first?

sono: I'm just saying that there's a better way of going about stating your opinion other than 'Weakest sets in [ms] history'. This place is put up with the dedication and effort of many, many people. We don't have to pay one red cent, yet we get to reap all the benefits. If you don't like a set, then fine, but have more class than to make blunt statements like that. And to make statements like 'Digweed - Lost it completely' & 'Jondi & Spesh - How did these people get into music'? What are you basing your opinion on, Digweed's Kiss or Transition sets? J&S's Kiss Mix? When was the last time you saw any of the three of them live?

#341133Post 8 of 37

sorry we aren't pleasing sono.

how about some more boring yunus, gpal, or any of that other snore bog prog that gets put up every week.

we do things different once in awhile. if you don't like it, come back next week. cheers.

Actually ive been around for 2 years but changed alot of names. come on now, just let it go. Or are you going to die tonight defending those sets on MS, :)

#341155Post 18 of 37

an opinion can be stated with a bit more tact than that, that's all... diggers lost it completely? and the other comments just came accross a bit over the top. criticism and ridiculous comments are two different things you are involved... though barely, in a community of people that love music, and yes opinions are just that, opinions, but coming out like that is ridiculous.. you just bashed some of the best dj's in the world. of course everyone has a bad set, bad days, weeks, etc.

and to say "in [ms] history", and only being a member for 5 months... now thats laughable mate. cheer up yourself, maybe you just had a bad weekend.

#341232Post 27 of 37

sono, speak your mind...always

don't let the herd mongers attempt to try to argue about music with you

it should be a morally neutral subject, no need to argue over

lots of music sucks, lots of it amazing

speak your mind about your aesthetic, as long as it has no moral bearing, and you should only be respected for your genuine differences, as you are an artist, like all of us

...and to all the pedants that jump down the throats of those who don't follow the tree house rules....

grow the f*** up and respect the man's honesty

The team provides tons of music weekly. Neither bandwidth nor time are free however they are donated. To completely trash everything that is being made available is ridiculous. I don't want to hear how much it "sucks" from anyone. If his comments were even remotely constructive I wouldn't mind, being an artist myself I know the power of constructive criticism and intelligent discussion, but a mindless bashing is just not welcomed or respectful.
Jondi&Spesh - how did these people get into music
Give me a break.

This isn't about "herd mongers" or "tree house rules" its about respecting what a lot of us put work into every week.

#341262Post 36 of 37

Nice statement to bring this thread to an end. Your opinion was heard, more luck next time...oh maybe not as this week we will continue with more parts of DJ Villo. Earwax for most, Earpain for the rest. :Naughty:

#341310Post 37 of 37

I would like to add something before the thread comes to an end....

Sono - I know your nick name, I remember you being here on the previous versions of MS too..... while I do agree with you that your opinion IS deserved, it could have been with a little more tact......

obviously a few people on here have been offended with the way it was said.... prolly a better wording would have helped.....

our idea is to please as much as we can and we WILL fail to please a few members from time to time. That number will continue to grow as the site grows so yea, opinions like yours will help educate us in the diversity of people who make it on here....

so no worries, nothing against you mate....... just be little careful with how you say what you wanna say..... ego's are way more fragile than you and me can imagine
