How many would be interested in an MS FTP .... to help me set up a place where we can store archives of all the mixes we host...

its not gonna be cheap and I WILL need financial support in running the joint.....

it can also be set up as a trading FTP but with bandwidth limits....

Yep - the quality of sets on here is always good so an archive would be slamming!!

I got 30 pence in mi pocket! Im now on dial up! I have nothing in the fridge! The heating has stopped working! I need a new carpet in my living room! My car has broke down! The wife is leaving me! The batteries are running out on my mouse! My hard drive is full! My phone bill has just arrived! All my friends have deserted me! I got rising damp in the kitchen! My business is going under! My slippers are worn out and Ive gone deaf in one ear!

We could use credit and whatnot...or make setlists of sets we have, to see who can contribute...of course money does come in to play...Im just talking about ways to clear out the leech-types.

definitely sounds like it could be considered some type of pay service for copyrighted material... but as long as you make it extremely clear that it's free for anybody to join then I can't see any problems.

while I don't download but a third (a fifth?) of the hosted sets, I'll definitely donate to it regardless of if I actually even use it

I wouldnt see it as paying for sets. I'd see it as donating money, so a buddy of mine can keep his cool server up and running smooth :wink:

I like the idea, although it could take a lot of work to stop it being raped by leachers. The obvious solution would be to make it a pay to play service, but that probably vastly increases the likelyhood of being sued for "selling" copywrited music!

The ideal system would be a credits system, you could either buy download credits or earn them by contributing downloads, helping with tracklists, punishing leechers etc... Could take a lot of programing though... :roll:

I'm in, i never have time to grab all the specials, i have parts 1,2,3 and 5 of the futureshock special, usless with out the rest!

well for starts, the info could be setup in a hidden forum accessible by group.... this group would include all the peeps who have been with us for the longest time.....

then as we monitor bandwidth etc. we slowly open up the group to others...
