Starting in 2005, I will be doing a new monthly mix for the syndicated radio show Resident Nation. The show appears on Music Choice TV [url]www.musicchoice.com[/url]. The show broadcasts through 650 different cable companies as well as DirecTV. This breaks down to 1 out of every 3 homes in America or over 35 Million homes nationwide. My show is the first Friday night of every month (beginning January 7/8), technically Saturday morning) 12am, Sunday morning 3am & the following Wednesday evening 9pm. All time EST.

I will be playing in South America the first weekend of January, then I am taking the rest January and February off to concentrate on making beats.

how do you figure?

Amercians have an 8 minute attention span and love being sold/fed their music..... I'm not trying to downplay what chris is doing because I think its great. Some people will definitely listen but I don't think there will be a huge prog explosion here in the states anytime soon due to it. Anyone that knows prog/trance/house is probably already familiar with him.

still though, this is I think the first syndicated show of its type that will reach the largest potential audience EVER in the US...so it's either way a huge step forward for everyone involed and the music....

But it seems the majority of Americans aren't into Prog. They're into Pop and Rap...

Then again, if they were to listen to something decent rather than 2 Unlimited everytime the Magic scores, they might take an ear for it.

They are into rap and pop because that is what they are fed. If they finally came across something that let them feed themselves they might just get off what's being shoved down their throats.

How many of you got into this kind of music because of MTV or the radio. And i'm not talking about those in england who have Kiss100. I'm mostly speaking about us here in the americas.

anyone who wants to hear some of chris' new sets can tune in to this months balance show on XM radio (this friday btw) channel 80 the move at 8pm EST 5pm Pacific he is doing one of the two hours and its rockin!

thats good to hear... I haven't heard anything from him in awhile so hopefully its banging.

Chris Fortier could play the best sets night after night and most people including the real HEADS would not know what hit them.

The man does not get all the credit he is entitled to. :(

Very true.

I miss his residency at Filter 14, before it closed. He'd play all night in this tiny room, it was really one of thoses unique experiences every month. He always really impressed me, how hard he's working, and how he can really build and keep the momentum of a set going! Looking forward to more of him in '05!

This is kinda kool..i have direct tv but never listen to the music on there....sure will tune in tonite at 9 pm though.....

i hope more djs get on there....

i want to order digital cable for this alone. would be well worth it. and like i said earlier in this thread, we need someone to burn these shows to dvd and them rip them for the [ms] community to download. dont think this is asking too much. :Naughty:

Missed it last friday but def gonna catch it next time. I heard an "exclusive" mix from chris on here maybe a month and a half ago and couldn't believe they were playing it. Defininitely excited about this. I think it's only an hour long mix. Anyone know differently?

Also, if I'm able to record them I'd be more than willing to upload to ms.

edited Also, wanted to add that I just turned on music choice right now and they're playing "Tracks from Hybrid Presents Y4k". They do play some decent stuff on here once in a while, you just have to endure some shite in the interim.
