Re: Structures

i just got my signed copy. i really am liking the vagabond set...perfect build up. the documentary dvd is very impressive, kinda trippy in parts. loved it.

does anybody know how to get the audio file of the vagabond set so i can burn it on cd to listen to in the car or home stereo.

Re: Structures

got my signed copy as well last week.. similar note, this is the first compilation cd i have bought since Danny Howells GU24/7 lol.

awesome compilation here no doubt.. prefer cd1 to 2, i am a bit partial to the slow/deep/dark chillout/progressive that digweed and howells seemed to have mastered.

Audacity will allow you to record just the audio while playing the video.

CD 2... can't get enough!!!

Re: Structures

Got to agree with the rest CD2 is the real deal. a masterpiece from digs..has to be his best studio to date.

CD1 was just Ok for me.. i actually liked the Vagabond set way better then CD1.

the actual CDs sound amazing on my home stereo though...and i was happy to see real jewel cases and not that cardboard garbage that most use now.

Really just wanted to have a listen before I buy and I haven't been watching enough to catch promos . If someone could point me to a promo that would be good :D

Btw the fact that they are in jewel cases is a a strong selling point for me. !

promos just don't do it justice. I would just buy the package, you wont be disapointed. the sound quality on the cds is amazing.

Re: Structures

CD2 is unlike anything that i have ever heard released commercially. cd2 is an excellent snapshot of the digweed vortex that u would hear live.

if anyone knows John and can get him to release the last 2hours of vagabond, it would be wonderfullll, its 120 times better than anything i ever witnessed in the EDM. i felt like i stuck my head in a running washing machine

Re: Structures

35 mins to 43 mins: The imminent approach of Vortex, getting sucked in, and then spat out into space.

Anyone could've played those tunes in a set but absolutely nobody would've put them together the way Digweed did.

#1396277Post 104 of 113

Re: Structures

was quite skeptical after bedrock 10/11, and had only seen 'structures' as another word for 12, but ultimately i couldn't resist and had to buy it... i'm very happy with this release. the deep-tech groove of cd1 is cool, though it hits some speed bumps getting up to clubby tail end, but it's fun... cd2 is off the chain bangin' digweed like i haven't expected to hear from him on a commercial release. it's a little surprising and awesome...

between the mixes and the vagabond set, there's plenty of range here to be happy with... the promos, which didn't really speak to me, don't do this release justice...

skepticism abated...

Re: Structures

Really really enjoyed the documentary ... especially the percussion's part. That Club in Buenos Aires looks so promising, especially with Suicide Sports Club on the Background!

Next is CD1 to get me in the mood ... then I am ready for the Vortex of CD2

John gets tons of requests for live sets - there were licencing issues with doing an official release like Structures - whereas his Transitions radio show doesn't need to licence the tracks played.

He has varied some of the sets aired, plus lets his cat pick out the odd DAT (I kid you not) - fabric (Dec 2009) and his Space sets are high on many's lists as are the Bedrock nights. Now that he's played a few Mayan shows it'd be nice to hear one of those.

If you love CD2 the Essential Mix 2010 is probably the nearest things to a seemlessly crafted set too - frankly its unreal just how great that mix is.

The live sets are special, but what I'd also say is that John's weekly Transitions shows include music in his current sets e.g. this week there was the Julien Jeweil - Cube [Form Music FORM07EP] and Mr Fogg - Stung (John Digweed & Nick Muir Space Discoteca Remix) [Unsigned] both of which were highlights at Space just 10 days before.

If you listen to his show, have feedback on Structures or want to make requests try feedback@johndigweed.com - you can stream this weeks show from his website www.johndigweed.com (no kiss100 rip this week as they didn't go to air).

I kinda slept on this release for some reason, but got around to downloading today ($8.99 for both continuous mixes and all tracks is a steal!). Loving it so far!!!

Re: Structures

This mix ROCKS!!!! I loved the last two Bedrock Comps, but this is amazing. Like everyone else here, I need give CD 1 a little more attention, but CD 2 is INCREDIBLE! Love the DVD documentary and live set. Wish the live set was able to be played in a regular cd player, for the car of course. Diggers just keeps going strong!!!!

I bought the track from hmv.com, same as the DVD if you don't wanna rip it. One person was nice enough to share as well.

for some Natural * reasons .... in the few times I could heard it .. . . never went through the first 20 minutes .. is an unnecessary obstacle in the flow that does not belong to the infinite world of quality where John * lives .. . .
