I thought I would try my hand at the Chris Fortier remix competition over at FOEM. I am by all means a novice at production work and in fact this is the first thing I have put together outside of a DJ mix (there is a second track, but I just started that recently). I toyed with all types of genres for this competition and scrapped every single one of them except for this one. I wanted something different than what everyone else is doing (imagine that), and everyone seems to be sticking to the original 128 BPM and I wanted something slower (120 BPM). It is still a work in progress and by all means is not completed. I most likely don't have a chance in hell of winning but this has been a lot of fun for me and a great way at learning to produce something. So check it out and let me know what you think, I know everyone isn't going to like it and I'm ok with that so don't worry about hurting my feelings!

I like it. Very dreamy. Would be a nice ending to a set. Good work.

I haven't listened to the original samples, but I think there's a lot of good groove going on there. In the whole intro part, the percussion is sounding great. I know you were trying to make it a bit slower, but when i listen to that I think it would sound great with a bit more BPM and a good kick behind it. Regardless, good work mate.

I totally forgot that I posted it here, nobody hit on it for a few days and after that I just forgot about it. But it was fun to do and gave me some good experience doing it. I actually did a second remix that I never posted that was a little more heavier and a little faster. I didn't want to post that one because I wanted to keep the second one a secret (you can't always give away your idea's). Thanks for the input it is really appreciated. :)

Killer bro. What BPM were you at in this remix?

NM it says on the site 120. Isn't that about where Chris is in his mixes?

That just depends really on the venue. I haven't timed out the BPM's on any of his sets but I think (from what I have heard) they are around 126 or so.
