Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

On first listen, I found the first disc to much more interesting than the second, which, despite a few good tracks, seemed a bit boring. Interested to see if this changes after a few more listens. I was keen to see him a few weeks back, but going by the reviews in this thread from perth & melbourne, it seems I may have dodged a bullet there

Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

Wasn't actually a bullet  I still had a good night :D And it certainly wasn't expensive. He had some great tunes there ! I guess after the amazing night with King Unique, Guy J , Marc Marzenit and Satoshi Tomiie the bar had been raised  Hope you went to that. Apparently Sydney was amazing as well :D

None of the things that were wrong in the club would apply to the CDs though. It's just that a few of us were using the club night to decide if we would buy the cds.

Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

Yeah, after musica, it wouldn't have been easy to measure up. In sydney he played a laundry garden party with hybrid for ~$35-40 I think, which isn't cheap.

Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

I'm still a bit high from the Guy J etc night. Was definitely right up there with the best this year, or ever for that matter. The artists all loved it as well !! Nobody wanted to leave at the end of the night

Let's see. The first CD seems to be good but i hadn't listen to it very much. The second CD, witch i'm listen much more have good musics, specially the first ones but have some crappy musics to. This is my opinion.

The comp is definitely good, but both discs have a couple tracks that I wouldn't play for deaf people.

Which ones specifically?

I totally agree with you.

Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

Pretty good. It continues the Balabce tradition . Definetly has the mutant clan sound to it. Especially on cd 2, I really enjoyed both discs. A good mixed cd comp is really hard to come by these days.

Re: Timo Maas - Balance 017

actually, this is the balance comp which has surprised me the most. i would rate it 8.5 /10 the only maas mix i have heard before was music for the maases 2 from 2003 (?) and it was pretty average...
