Re: Amsterdam

Check Panama nightclub agenda. I know thats a pretty cool club. Danny Howells has a residency there. Look for things coming up at the Heineken music hall. I know Gorillaz and acouple of other cool things were coming up soon. You can alson check the site for the Melkweg. There's usually something going down there. Have fun

Re: Amsterdam

I like Trouw, Sugar Factory and Panama most.

There is also a really nice party in Ruigoord. It's a place near Amsterdam without rules. underground stuff.

Arjuna Schiks plays there live, NL's next star http://www.myspace.com/arjunaschiks

Check out Mahesvari or Paradisal

Also really nice places: Paradiso, Canvas. Hotel Arena and the Melkweg. But check the agenda, because they have very different gerenes sometimes

Re: Amsterdam

Try melkweg: www.melkweg.nl in the town centre.

There was a prog-house night on there last time I was in town, and we also went to see PvD at the Factory, or the Sugar Factory as it's now called (on the out skirts).

Club Escape is in the centre of town, but the music policy is a bit cheesy to say the least.

Re: Amsterdam

To Sakio

Im not sure about the train, but near the German/Holland/Belgium border sometimes has stings set up. Usually its targeting Americans. The reason I know this is its put on by OSI. I have also watched a documentary on German Polizei set up doing "tests" on the side of the road. Just a heads up!

Re: Amsterdam

AIR is suppose to be the hot new club, they are getting great bookings. When I was there Melkweg was probably the best, saw Joris and Josh Wink there, wicked night! I didnt get a chance to go to Trouw but its suppose to be one of the nicest clubs. So check between those 3 I think you will find something good going on. Also 16Bit Lolitas often play at Club NL. Check out Epiqurus Agency, they are my friends that represent 16Bit,Seb Davidson, Eelke Klein etc, they know whats up in the city http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages#!/profile.php?id=100001059177413&ref=ts

have fun!

Re: Amsterdam

I hear Club NL is great. One of the resident DJ´s there is Fady Ferraye, currently one of my favourite producers. Check him out if you´re into twisted/proggy house.

Re: Amsterdam

Thanks for the tips guys......I'm planning on doing 3 nights, Tuesday the 28th till Friday evening (October 1st), wondering whether there are usually something electronic-wise happening on Thursdays because if I do the Friday night as well, then it's cutting it fine with getting back to London for B12!

Re: Amsterdam

go to the tweede kamer coffeeshop - its like the only one worth visiting... its one of the originals, and pretty much locals mostly. best hash in amsterdam and one of only 5 medical suppliers in ams.

its on the heisteeg near the spui.

"One frequently recommended coffeeshop is De Tweede Kamer, situated in the center of town – a five to ten minutes walk from Dam square. The phrase ‘Tweede Kamer’ (Second Room) commonly refers to the upper house of the Dutch Parliament. We don’t know whether a salute to the Dutch government was intended, but fact is that Holland’s pragmatism has made cofffeeshops like De Tweede Kamer possible.

This tiny shop – you’d have to go outside just to change your mind – is very popular. We’re told that the consistently high quality of the marijuana and hashish sold here has a lot to do with it. (Here’s how the experts put it). That and the friendly, expert service. Excellent espresso as well.

If you’re lucky enough to find a free seat in the cozy, wood-panneled shop, do hang around. It’s a nice place to relax, shoot the breeze, and watch the shop’s diverse collection of customers.

The folks who operate De Tweede Kamer also own nearby coffeeshop De Dampkring, which is also known for its high quality products.

Address & Contact Information De Tweede Kamer Heisteeg 6 [Google Map (Top left-hand corner)] Amsterdam"

lemme know if you need accomodation, i know a great bed and breakfast that was very reasonalble, clean, safe and in an interesting part of town by a huge day market.

Re: Amsterdam

We go for an apartment rather than a hotel. Prob works out about half the price and you can do as you please. Last year we had 4 nights in a pad at the north end of depuip (i know i've spelt that wrong?), which may look like a long way out of town but with the trams as good as they are, it's 5/10mins away tops. Even when it's toolate for a tram it was no more than 15/20 min walk from leidseplein.

I haven't got the booking info to hand but will have a dig tomorrow and hopefully send you the site we booked through.
