when was his last studio mix? dare I say 1995?

actually, it might have been the '99 one. but He basically just mixed down a set he had played at twilo and aired it on the e-mix.

I was thinking the same thing, and yes, this is the first JD 's studio EM in the millenium :D

Hmmm... I guess saying he´s "mixing down" doesn´t strictly mean he did it all in the studio... it could be a live mix he is mastering or tweaking...

I dunno... guess we´ll see soon, but yeah, I truly hope it´s an all-in-the-studio mix!

I hope he did it on CDJ2000s instead of Ableton. Some correcting in the mixes brings a whole new vibe to the mixes. Prime example is Steve Bug's essential mix from last year.

mind=blown. did not come to mind. good call.

i think the E-mix takes a different focus than his transitions show. transitions, to me, is about promoting great records. it's not really a show that takes you on a journey. the e-mix gives a lot of room to do just that.

case in point: moshic's transitions set vs. his essential mix.

Getting excited - we get a real treat for the weekend, 2 hours of something old (back to 1997 for T300) and 2 hours of something as bang upto date as possible !

John played some real corkers at Sankeys a couple of weeks back - so the EM should be extra special. He takes great pride and care in his work, so this won't be just any ol' EM - but a finely crafted studio set of the best stuff out there + hopefully some exclusives ;)

I think they realy ruined the Kiss show when they moved the adverts from on the hour to every 25/30 minites

But it's what keeps the show on air so that's the compromise for a weekly dose of Digweed. Now if they moved the adverts to [I]after every song,[/I] that would be a pain.

I played the Transitions for first time...listen the first 20 sec and said:" ohhhh.. i think it was a 97 set not a contemporary set"....then i stopped...

Now, I figure out John has the most future sounds ever"!!!
