Not wanting to piss on anybodies bonfire but I'm not getting anything from this.
Am I missing something here or I just growing tired of music that offers nothing more than a rhythm section with a synth layered over the top? As a Reason producer (Very amateur) I feel as though I could write a track like this during my dinner hour at work. Maybe you should tell me I'm old and passed it and I will shut my mouth!

Seriously though, I do feel as though some music is beginning to pass me by. I still love listening to electronic music but I get more and more picky about what it should sound like. I think I should just come to terms with the fact that plod prog does not do it for me anymore and move on.

I'll take the plod over mash-up/top40 anyfreakinday of the week. The lack of wire hangers and disregard for birth control 20ish years ago is becoming apparent.

There is a fair bit of this sound around , but it's a sound I like . And all things will pass. :)

having an opinion shouldn't piss anyone off mate, as long as it's put forward with respect and a valid point. IMO, it's not age it's just taste..I'm the same age as you and there is lots of good and bad music coming out right now, there is just [B][U]so much[/U][/B] music, getting through the crap to find the good stuff is a more tedious task (not saying this is crap, I've not listened yet as it's blocked at work)
We're a breed of musical snobs to begin with, we like what we like, nothing wrong with that :)

I think the track is fucking beautiful, and the people I showed it to, some of whom are DJ´s, loved it too. Sometimes there´s beauty in simplicity.

I didn´t say otherwise ;) I was just saying that even though the track seems simplistic, that isn´t necessarily a bad thing, for me.
For example, lots of techno is basically the same loop going on and on with only slight variations throughout, but if it´s a good loop, it could go on for 10 minutes for all I care. Or look at blues music. It´s all basically the same thing, it´s the feeling behind and it and which the artist shows that makes it shine. 8)

I must agree with MJ on this, as a track by itself, it really doesn't offer much other than a plodding kick and some synths layered on top with some builds to add a bit of atmosphere.. having said that, I can deffo hear it dropped in the middle of a set on a nice system and it would probably sound pretty good at the right time of the night/morning
