Mine was spent at Giant Village in LA, absorbing the mixing mastery of a certain John Digweed while getting way too trashed... Blissful, nevertheless...

How was everyone's New Year?!
Diggers on New Years would be awesome ...or Danny Howells ...or James Zabiela. I had the pleasure of the latter. :)
Went into Space in Sydney early on, caught an up close and techo toys demo and chit chat with Zabiela before the gig started, then got three hours of the fookin' man going spaz with the EFX1000 and pulling out one absolutely phenomenal track after another. Even better than the last time he was in the country.
Oh. Did I mention that while having a chinwag James he gave me the last-minute okay to record his midnight New Years Eve set? So I jumped in a cab, quick ride back over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to get my DAT recorder and then back to the club.. cable up and he started a few minutes later. Thankyou very much James. :)
After that excellent evening I got some shut-eye, then on NYD I hung out with mates, boozing and ..err.. whatnot to some more local and international talent at Sounds.
Between all this my two flatmates (and best friends) got engaged, and it wouldn't be unreasonable to say this is one of the best possible ways to start the year.
Woo! :)
:RightOn:
Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
Well to be brutaly honest the pub i went to was a total let down. The landlord did fuck all to bring the new year in apart from turn the telly on at about 10 seconds to twelve so we could here Big Ben chimming. No build, no atmosphere no fuck all. He then put on a reggae cd which tipped me over the edge so we all fucked off to my mates house and got very messy. It was going to be our plan to have a party at his but we decided to go out instead.. wrong decision! Still, we made goood the night after that.
Mine was pretty quiet - in their infinite wisdom the English FA decided to make Liverpool play their home game against Chelsea at mid-day (the Fuckers). The last thing you want is a monster hanger when 45,000 people are shouting.
So I've saved a few ???'s for Diggers Bedrock tour instead !
Was in Amsterdam. Cool place, you Dutch deffo have the right attitude and know how to have a party...

Come again.
assphinctersayswhat?
Had a wonderful NY @ bOA in T.O. listening to the likes of David Morales, Tom Stephan, Saeed Young, Chus & Cellabos, etc. Must say that the music was consistently brilliant all night, however wasn't too pleased about the venue. For those of us who wanted to hit the piss, the club made it incredibly hard. But all that aside, had great company and great music so i really couldn't ask for a better way to bring in 2005.

Sorry to hear that matey.
Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
I had a wonderful nye. Went to a friends party, then walked to a bar down the street in which i had the same thing as MJ...the bar had a wonderful DJ playing really good house but they kept blasting the stupid football games to drown it out. Then we got the ball dropping for a whole one minute count down. Left right after shots, and partied at the house then we all went to a club that opened at 1 that some friends were playing at. Proceeded to get very messy, woke up last night next to someone with the same name as me. :NotMe: Oh and seeing as I just moved back to my mothers, I got yelled at for not being home in 24 hrs and not calling.
that isnt good hulkhuss :(

sounds the same as mine if you were to include hooking up with some cracked out slut at around 7am... :SuckNGiz:
A very quiet night, because a day before went to the Sasha,Burridge, and Van M party@ Vallarta, so lets say that was my NYE party, and as a small review, the party was great, Lee burridge wow ...awsome as always, Jimmy too, and i had to say it and sorry for those who are sensitive to this but i dont like a single second from sahsas work  , very sad about this... but anyway had a great time... happy 2005!!
Saw Diggers in LA. Not as good as the two previous years marathon's at Avalon, but def quality.
Mine it was supposed to be great, with a go-out-to-dance night.... but thursday?s night some assholes started on fire a discotheque in a concert night, and government said "3 days with all fun-places closed". shit... poor people...
i had to work, but that 's the service industry..anyway i had some fun at work kicked some people out, had some drinks , flirted with some girls, almost got in a fight, got some people fired, made a bartender quit, broke the sales record for my bar, so overall not to bad
Was in Amsterdam. Cool place, you Dutch deffo have the right attitude and know how to have a party...
Thnx...
I went to see a friend of mine play with his band in a jazzcafe, and they rocked! Got totally wasted on blonde beers (mixed with some wine and other crappy beer), and hit my bed @ 6. Woke up at 1.30 pm the next day, feeling like I was taken from behind by a train....
Good party.
Mine was ok. I went out for Indian food, then came back and downloaded some of the MS downloads and chilled to some Digweed
Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
i went to heaven in london...it was fucking amazing 8)
Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
mine was ok, spent time with my wife and her family celebrating NY, watch the ball dropped, drank some wine and some champain, did not realize that I was totally fucked up by 2:30, fell a sleep. wife's family want to watch some russian channel, so i went to the basement and watch Ali G marathon on HBO. Got an amazing present from my friend JBL speakers and subwoofer for my IPOD, nice and slick design and great quality.

Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
Went to Renaissance @ The Cross cos Dave Seaman was bringing in the new year,
First up was Marcus James on warm up duty. He played a wicked set bringing the tempo up nicely for Seaman who came on at 11:00.
You knew Seaman was on straight away, he didn?t fuck around and was banging from the start. At about 10 minutes to midnight he played GWEN STEFANI ? WHAT YOU WAITING FOR (tick tock, tick tock) great tune to build up for the stroke of midnight, then the midnight tune was UNDERTONES ? TEENAGE KICKS (respect to John Peel). All hell broke loose then with tunes (from what I remember) GUY GERBER ? STOPPAGE TIME ALEX DOBY ? HAZY WAYS (Evil 9 remix) U2 ? VERTIGO (Redanka remix) Just what you need for new year, tunes you know (which is why we went to Renaissance).
Next up was Marcus James again at 1:30 who?s first tune was THE all time Renaissance classic BEDROCK ? FOR WHAT YOU DREAM OF, There is something special about being at Renaissance and hearing that tune!, the whole place went metal singing along and waiting for the best line in that tune??..GET DOWN. I was losing the plot by this time and needed a quiet 10 minutes so I headed for a sit down in the other room.
Paul Jackson (Underwater Records) was playing and mixing things up well, SPEKTUM ? KINDA NEW, X-PRESS 2 ? MUSICISUM, so didn?t sit down for long.
Back to the main room for HYBRID, who started with MORY KANTE - YEKE YEKE, which I missed (gutted). Can?t remember to much of there set as i was wobbling all over the place Before I knew it, it was 5:30 and we was all ready to call it a night, The Cross was still packed with only ? hour to the end. As we left I had one last look around, and boy there were some messed up people in there, then again every time i?ve been to The Cross its been the same, which is why I like it.
All in all a great night, Seaman rocked it, and the atmosphere as wicked, I don?t get out much these days to go clubbing but it was just what was needed. Renaissance lived up to being what its always been, even after all these years, QUALITY.

Re: How was everyone's New Year?!
girlfriend and i were in denver.
laughed my way through BT on thursday @ Church (glad i didn't have to pay, thanks casa del soul) Wyatt Earp ripped it up as the opener.
friday night, we ate dinner with bryan zentz at this weird vegan joint, then went to Vinyl, basement sessions w/ little mike, ryan jaqua, and then bryan zentz destroyed some heads with banging techno at midnight. Off to Afterhours Anonymous w. little mike, joey b, and some others till 7am (wicked djs and friends, awesome time, met so many great people from online,) then La Boheme till 11am or so...then to another afterhours at someone's house till mid afternoon, then to the airport, home at 11pm. ahhhh bed. yesterday...bed. today. work. hell. well worth it tho.
had our annual NYE lobster dinner with my wife and then went to a house party with some friends tag-teaming it. Then headed back home for an afterhours with some other friends and kept it cranking til dawn and then some. Was a damn messy drunken night all around!

btw how's that efx1000 toy? i only saw couple of pics, but haven't found info about it yet
Let's wait and see if it gets the okay for release before getting too excited about scheduling for the show. Let's not forget the 2004 live set from Canberra I put on did not get approved for MP3 download (although it did go to air on Proton) ...so we'll just wait and see for the time being.
As for the EFX1000 ...well, what can I say? It's appears to be the ultimate DJ toy. Lots of everything basically and sounds fantastic! At the personal showcase thingy there were some probs with getting it to work on a Xone 92, so they swapped for a DJM600 - but the main stage was using a Xone and there were no such problems. It's very likely because James is using a pre-release version of the unit, and I'm sure it'll get sorted out by the time a retail release comes around.
Fantastic night though. Top guy, top tunes and top mixing and oh so consistent. Loved it! :)
