Re: 10 Best Dance Albums of All Time

If we changed the question to exclude compilations and just original albums what are your answers?

I'd add Daftpunk-Homework (although its not purely original cause they did get their beats from classic tracks)- checkout the video on youtube, where did daftpunk get their beats, its pretty shocking and funny. Also Cassius 1999 Way Out West- We Love Machine

Re: 10 Best Dance Albums of All Time

Going for ALBUMS and not mix compilations.

Moderat - Moderat. So in love with this album. Probably my favourite electronic album of the past 5 years. Pioneering. The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation. Obvious, but classic. So many massive club bangers. Underworld - Beaucoup Fish. Probably their strongest album, but they have stronger tracks elsewhere. Goldie - Timeless. This album truly is timeless, it still sounds fantastically fresh after all these years. Angel gives me shivers, state of mind is awesome. Inner City goodness! The Orb - Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld. Ambient house is born, awesome "morning after" listening.

Re: 10 Best Dance Albums of All Time

Artist album wise:

  1. Leftfield - Leftism
  2. Daft Punk - Homework
  3. Sasha - ADD
  4. Pole Folder - Zero Gold
  5. Underworld - Hundred Days Off (hard to pick one from them)
  6. Dousk - DIY (Same here, also like Kind of Human)
  7. Spooky - Gargantuan (I like Open better but it´s not strictly dance)
  8. WOW - Don´t look now
  9. Everything but the girl - Walking Wounded
  10. 16B - How To Live 100 Years

Re: 10 Best Dance Albums of All Time

My list will just look silly:

It got to 8 x CD's just with these :

Sasha - GU013 Ibiza & GU009 San Fran John Digweed - GU019 Los Angeles & GU014 Hong Kong Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure 1-3 & Communicate

Plus from the GU series alone there's also Paul Oakenfold - GU007 New York, Save Seaman 012 Buenos Aires and Danny Howells 027 Miami.

Then I love all Hernan's releases, with South America being a big standout but it's hard to picke between the Masters and Sequentials.

Bedrock: Jimmy Van M, Chris Fortier and DJ Sawa.

Transitions - 4, then 2, then 1, then 3.

Sander Kleinenbergs NuBreed and Joris Voorn's Balance are both timeless.

^^ Need to think how I can get this list near 10.
