Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

[QUOTE=Kamal;855432]problem with that is EVERY link on the board will be affected by this. i.e. forum links, thread links, etc. etc.[/QUOTE]

But in the previous version, hypertext in posts are differentiated from normal text? This must be a CSS tweak. Instead of changing the CSS for which would cause a board-wide change, maybe look for an element solely for posts?

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I just figured out the underlining thing. I was able to add some custom css for the postcontent div

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

seriously though, might be a cookie setting in your browser?

#1363483Post 248 of 332

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

Huggie, try deleting all cookies (or just the [ms] one if you know how) and emptying your cache. I had the same problem until I deleted all [ms] cookies

i emptied everything: cookies, history, cache thru FF options (and previously thru ccleaner); i turned off save passwords option ( so i lost all the passwords to all my other sites); turned it back on and now..

it saves my password, but not my username - so once i have typed in the full user name clicking password fills it in only (previously just typing the first letter would do everything)

(of course theres still a chance a f'ed that procedure up too!)

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

How about the search box color? It is still light grey and you cant see what you are typing.

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

should be fixed now

This is a Firefox thing, not a vBulletin thing. Are you checking the "Remember me" box when you log in? This should jump you to the board without even giving you a login prompt.

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I think I just fixed the IE8 problems with the index. The page should load right away now, instead of the 30-60 second hang time. Let me know if anybody still sees any issues, or if you see that it's fixed now.

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I know we've been making alot of feedback and suggestions so just want to take a moment and thank the team for making these tweaks, this is why [ms] is the community it is. (BTW just noticed the text description for the smileys are white and difficult to read as well, same previous issue with the search box)

Now you can all thank me for this thank you post :p:lol:

Awesome! Did you recompile the index page or what was it?

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I got rid of something that was doing a heavy db query. it impacted all browsers, just IE8 got hit the most :)

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

The search function works really bad. I can't search for two keywords. I tried for example [I]digweed matter[/I], titles only search, and the results don't include both keywords. It gives me all digweed and all matter threads. If I check "search type: forums", I get nothing. It used to be good.

^ I'm also curious about what happened with the search feature, thanks for bringing that up.

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I am aware that is not that important after this huge seamless change to the forum but I was wondering ... Has anyone else got any problems with the Arcade? I keep getting: [B]vBulletin Message[/B]

Last time I saw it, it had layout and other problems so that's postponed for now.

[QUOTE=feather;854277]A forum-wide option to hide the Thank Yous in a post would be nice too if we rather not get caught up in the whole rep mentality again, plus the 'thank yous' interrupt the flow of a thread.[/QUOTE]

This! Other than the "Thanks" feature the board looks amazing and is easy to use. It might be nice to have the smilies available on the quick reply as it's an extra step to get to them in the "Go Adance". Thanks for all of your hard work, it's greatly appreciated!

Oh..and LOL at Jenks a few pages back! He thanked almost every post on one page!

Re: A big change is on its way...[vb4 upgrade]

I'd also like to request that the new format wash my dishes and occasionally do my dry cleaning.

Thanks again for all the new features!

I fixed the search box issue a few days ago. I don't see any problems with the smileys, so maybe it fixed them too. If you still see the problem, post me a screenshot!
