I've been considering upgrading my pc speakers. Currently I have a set of Logitech Z-540 ...it's a 4.1 system, but it's only a 40w system...for the price (they where given to me, FREE!) they are not bad. but I would really like something better. I really hate the sub on this system...sux ass!

what do you have? Do you like what you have? Any recommendations?

Re: what computer speakers do you have?

on PC 1 we have a complete 5.1 surround system. Kenwood KRF-V5050. 2 x KEF Cresta 1, KEF 2 x Cresta 3 and a KEF Cresta Centre + Gale 3080 Subwoofer.

PC 2 has 2 Alesis M1 Actives.

I've never liked PC Speakers...

I also have the Altec Lansing speakers and sub. You can check them out at the apple website. I find them really crisp and clear, you can pick up all the nuances I couldn't with my old bose ones...

#329279Post 8 of 42

The same ones that came with the computer. Some cheap ones.

#329280Post 9 of 42

I have some old Altec speakers that sound really good sometimes. It all depends on the source. Some sites have crap streams.

#329283Post 10 of 42

I`m connected up to a little Sony midi system. Making tunes with basic pc speakers is not an option.

#329284Post 11 of 42

you got some big guns there!

I've been looking for a good 2.1 system...I'm not a gamer, just need'em for the tunes. Has anyone listened to the MX-5021 from Altec Lansing?

#329344Post 13 of 42

IT took our speakers away at work Dammit! but.... at least they're not keeping track of what I'm NOT listening to all day!

I got 2 custom speakers with Focal woofers and Morel tweeters with a Cambridge audio P500 and C500 and a D500se cd player.

If you're wondering Cambridge audio had a speaker division and they sold it to Creative a while back.
