Re: Comp CD of the Year?

I'll go with INVOLVER I'm not really that big of a sasha fan but man that cd is just something else, it has a class of its own.....

I'd also liked "rise and fall" from pascal feos.
Fabric 15 - Craig Richards
:RightOn:

Involver was very good aswell. But Craig completly changed how I viewed his talent and style

#329055Post 10 of 44

Renaissance Masters by Hernan Cattaneo

#329100Post 11 of 44

James Zabiela - ALiVE

No doubts about it...

#329101Post 12 of 44

Either Involver or ALiVE, but I'm leaning towards ALiVE

#329102Post 13 of 44

Cusick's Palms or Chloe's Kiss... but neither were really a "Comp" so I vote that there were none.

#329119Post 14 of 44

when did burridges 24/7 come out? i vote for that but thats the only CD i bought this year..

edit: actually i bought involver too and i really like that

Desyn - Bedrock OS1 8)

#329206Post 17 of 44

There are three compliations I really enjoyed this year. The first one is Cattaneo's Renaissance Masters Vol. 1..my CD's are already so worn out from playing them up and down all the time. I just can't get enough of Catta's sexy prog house beats. The second CD I am really glad that I bought it (after listening a preview on Digweed's Kiss100 show) is Pig & Dan - Submission Sessions Vol. 1 which features only own releases from the production duo Dan Duncan & Igor Tchkotoua mixed together. The sound is very hypnotic and unique and somewhere between Progressive and Techno. The third CD which stood the test of time is Sasha's Involver. Hearing his Burma remix for the very first time in my life in CD quality is a moment I will never forget...goosebumps all the way. There?s not one track I didn't like on this album so it was definately worth the ??.

I am looking forward to purchase Digweed's Fabric 20, Fortier's Balance 007 (after listening to a preview because his Audio tour was a 17 ? expensive let down for me in 2004  ) and Catta?s Renaissance Masters Vol. 2 next year. :D

Re: Comp CD of the Year?

Im going to say Pappa-Balance 6.

CD 1 of that was a very nice surprise for me,and CD 2 was Pappa's usual top notch dark prog.

I really like this one too...but this was 2003....wasn't it?

Re: Comp CD of the Year?

This is tough but it's def. a close tie between Cattaneos' Reniassance and Involver with Involer just squeaking it out w/ the win.

#329348Post 26 of 44

Involver. Every time I listen to it I notice something new and cool. Some little sounds here and there... It makes me wonder how much work must have gone into it. Each sound is on its place there. Not a single one unnecessary or missing. Except for the last 2 tracks. They are unnecessary in their whole. Otherwise it would be a perfect cd.

#329362Post 27 of 44

my vote is Armin Van Burren and his compilation of Trance sucks Balls.. :SuckeyTo:

#329374Post 28 of 44

Flat out ... Sasha Involver. nothing even came close to such a production and value. There were some other good ones, but truly a sad year in music for EDM.

that's why you always have 80's. understand?

#329412Post 29 of 44

Maybes the Therapy Sessions, but the year was a bit so so imo.

Involver was nice too i suppose.

#329413Post 30 of 44

you know it ...

#329429Post 31 of 44

#329440Post 32 of 44

Re: Comp CD of the Year?

Lance Cashion's Proton compilation

Dave Seaman & Phil K's Therapy Sessions (especially Phil's disc)

James Zabiela's Alive

#329477Post 35 of 44

Anthony Pappa's Balance 006 was a pleasent surprise and seeing as i missed it first time round The Mix Collection by Sasha/Digweed.

#329486Post 36 of 44

#330289Post 38 of 44

A slight change in the top3.... Diggers Fabric is absolutely unbelievable. I've had it on heavy rotation for the last 5 hours.

I?m with TomTom on this one. Pig&Dan saved this year. This is so interesting and smooth, I can?t remember when I listened to a compilation that much.

Well, Involver, Balance06, EverybodyToo, Alive... I don?t play them often...

Re: Comp CD of the Year?

weatherall's fabric for me by a mile

i thought involver started off great then went nowhere

most of the other mixes i liked this year werent comp cd's, but rather live mixes -- hawtin's time warp, weatherall's groovepressure set, hulkonnen at rotation. . . .
